Tierney I would love if we can keep him fit, and he is a good Celtic man, you can't have enough of them in the team when the chips are down, especially against the Huns.

If you can think of a good left back at around £5M, then let me know.

Just can't et behind Tierney coming back, think it would be a disaster on our end unless he agrees a pay as you play deal.

Either way, any sort of profit for Bernabei would be amazing, but I'd be looking for double what we paid, considering how good he's done over there, it's more likely than you'd think.

I hope to * the club do their due diligence and stay a million miles away from Tierney. He is far too injury prone and we shouldn’t be getting him back on sentiment. We didn’t get to this position of stability by ignoring the scientific evidence on potential transfer targets. Hopefully it’s all just stupid rumours.

Gunna burst a few bubbles when Taylor signs a new deal and we bank this cash.
    Hope not.

Hope your right and we can make double the money we paid for him. Hopefully we can get a deal done this January. Would be absolutely remarkable if we were able to do that considering how badly he struggled for us.

The future of Celtic defender, Alexandro Bernabei, is set to come into focus this month as the Argentine’s loan deal at Internacional nears its end.

Bernabei’s temporary spell at the Brazilian Serie A side officially ends on December 31st but his contract at Celtic runs until the end of season 2026/27

The 24-year-old fullback has been enjoying a successful period away from Celtic at Internacional and has quickly become a huge fan favourite with the Brazilian high-flyers.

Internacional has already expressed that they want the Celtic player on a permanent deal but it seems that there is a stumbling block that the Colorados need to overcome to make that happen.

So 67 Hail Hail contacted the Brazilian football site, VAMO Futebol’s Editor-in-Chief, Rogerio Amaral Junior and asked what exactly are Internacional’s intentions as Bernabei’s loan deal nears its end.

Junior told 67 Hail Hail, “Internacional would really like to sign him, but the club’s financial situation is difficult and they are trying to sell some athletes.

“The idea was actually to extend the loan with Celtic, but what we knew in Brazil was that Celtic would like to sell him permanently

“He did very well at Internacional and other Brazilian clubs may be interested in signing him.”

Celtic value Bernabei at around the £8m mark but it seems at that cost, the Parkhead club could price the Argentinian out of a permanent from the Hoops

Bernabei managed just 28 games for Celtic since joining the club two years ago but at Internacional, the defender has already made 25 appearances helping them reach 5th place in the Serie A.

All these clubs always out pleading poverty and wanting * charity yet are always the first to rip teams off when it comes to buying from these types of league.

No chance anyone over there is paying £8m for the wee *. A year ago we'd have bitten their hand of for 800k

See details of Inter's negotiation with Celtic for Bernabei
Left-back was one of the team's highlights in the national championship and won awards as the best in the position

With the end of the Brasileirão, Inter are working to convince Celtic and complete the deal for Bernabei. The situation is complicated due to the amounts involved, but the team from Rio Grande do Sul are trying to find a solution without further weakening their coffers. The left-back's permanence is emerging as one of the management's priorities

After the first rounds of negotiations, the Scots asked the Colorados to continue the matter at the end of the national championship. Celtic is asking for 5 million euros (R$ 32 million at the current exchange rate) to carry out the deal

The amount is high for the Gauchos. For comparison purposes, Rafael Borré, the main signing of this season, was bought for 6.2 million euros (R$ 33.26 million at the exchange rate at the time) . However, the Colombian plays as a striker, a more valued position

Inter are looking for a way to keep the left-back at Beira-Rio. Celtic are not willing to take out another loan. Buying a smaller share would be an alternative, but the Scots need to be convinced.

ge heard from people with connections in the dressing room that the club is making every possible effort to have the Argentine permanently, but "will not do anything crazy".

Colorado counts on Bernabei and the representatives as allies. However, new talks will take place between the clubs. The Gauchos are waiting for a signal from Celtic to try to move forward with the deal.

The number 26, who has already expressed his desire to stay at Beira-Rio, was asked about the current situation. After receiving the Bola de Prata , an award given by ESPN, for best left-back (he also received it from the Brazilian Championship team, offered by the CBF), he avoided giving further details.

    – It doesn’t depend on me. Now I’ll enjoy my vacation and we’ll see what the future holds for me – he said.

Bernabei arrived at Inter in March of this year. The left-back did not captivate Eduardo Coudet and only entered the field once, in the 0-0 draw with Tomayapo in the South American

Three months later, now with Roger, he returned to play, gained a following and became one of the pillars of the team. He finished the season with 25 matches for the Gauchos, three goals and six assists .

In addition to Bernabei's situation, Inter are evaluating the market to provide new options to Roger Machado. Defenders, midfielders and strikers are in the discussions of the Gaúchos, but there is still no progress.

Internacional have fired in a final take it or leave it offer to Celtic for Alexandro Bernabei - with Palmeiras waiting in the wings.

The left-back was named in the Brazilian Serie A Team of the Year after an excellent campaign away from Parkhead. The original agreement between the two clubs included a buy clause - which needs to be met by the end of the month - which stands at a figure of around £7million

However, they've given up hope of raising that amount and hope the Scottish champions will do a deal over a fresh loan agreement. It is stated in Brazil that the Porto Alegre club are 'not optimistic' Brendan Rodgers' men will agree to those terms and have resigned themselves to the fact they will not have the defender in their ranks. Big-spending Sao Paulo giants Palmeiras are waiting for the deadline to pass before making their move for Bernabei

They are owned by Brazilian businesswoman Leila Pereira, who was named as in the top ten richest people in the South American country and bankrolls the club. And they would have no problem finding the funds to land the Celtic man

Put up or shut up. They'd be asking a lot more if they were selling him off the back of his season there.

They agreed a buy clause that they aren't even willing/able to match after a player of the year season. Seems like they were just stringing us along with that price to get the loan, that's in bad faith. * them, no negotiating.

Not sure we can throw stones from this glass house. Every time we have a buy option for a player we try to negotiate it down :giggle1:

He wasn’t player of the year though. We agreed a fee, he never became more than a rotation player and wasn’t worth the fee, so we re-negotiated to reflect buying a back-up player. Not sure Bernabei could have realistically done much more than play mostly every game and be awarded best LB in the league.

Aye can't argue with them trying to negotiate.

Unfortunately for them, the power seems to lie with us.
If palmerias are sniffing as well, we have no reason to negotiate that deal til the deadline and see what the other mob offer.

If there isn't any offer, then they can come back in with a deal.

Find it mad the buy out fee we had on him. To get half of that would be excellent in my eyes.
Perhaps they'll offer a portion now for a loan again, then an obligation to buy at the rest? Plus sell on.

Surely after the season he has had, there would be a host of clubs in the like of Spain and Portugal that would be interested?

I’ve seen * saying this and the only one I can think of is Bernardo, who we somehow negotiated down to £3.5m. Every other time there’s been an agreed price and we want them, it’s happened, Jota, CCV, Edouard are the examples off the top of my head the most recent ones. Who else except Bernardo have we done that with? Not being a * here genuine question because it feels like something we do :56:
