Looks like he will be back.
    Pity.
He’s too injury prone to pay the kind of wages he’s on at Arsenal.

First game for arsenal in 19 months and he's off injured YET AGAIN, if we bring him home it has to be on paid to actually play contract

Although he’s had his well documented injuries. since leaving us he’s played 146 competitive matches in 5 seasons. 29.5 games a season averagely…

5 seasons with us too so the perfect comparison… 167 games so 33.4 games averagely.

as long as we also recruit adequate cover we would be making the biggest mistake ever not taking him back.

also along with top division experience, is now an experienced centre back with Scotland at the highest level. Which personally is where I’d play him next to CCV. He would be the ball playing centre half we sorely miss when scales or trusty step out from the back

If he comes then we need to ensure we have able back up.

If Taylor goes then I'd still try and sign Valle but I'd imagine he'd want assurances

Fit and firing Tierney is a world.class fullback. Sadly that's very rare nowadays...hence why I struggle to get as excited about this as I should.

I’m all for taking him back, and on a free…no-brainer!

It would be ideal if we can sign Valle as a backup too, but I realise that’s unlikely.
I wonder if we offered a contract extension, 6-12 months, with a guarantee of 20+ games a season, would Barca/Valle take it?!

There’s no way Tierney is playing 50+ games a season, 25-30 tops, so there would be plenty of playing time for a developing player.

Hopefully it is just paper talk, brilliant player but his injury record is bad, do you really want to burst your wage cap foe someone that will only be available for a fraction of the season?

We wouldn't be paying what he's on at arsenal. Get him home now.

Brendan Rodgers wants to secure a stunning return to Celtic for Kieran Tierney.

Arsenal have informed the Scotland international that they don’t intend to exercise the option of another year on his contract when his deal expires in June.

The Gunners were obliged to take up the option by a certain date, which has now passed.

Free to speak to other clubs in January, the 27-year-old is open to the idea of a substantial pay cut in order to return home to his boyhood club.

Effectively a free agent, Tierney currently earns a salary in excess of £120,000 a week and will attract interest from the UK and overseas

With no sign of a breakthrough on Greg Taylor’s contract impasse and Alex Valle a one-year loan deal, Rodgers would see the appeal in an emotional return for a fans’ favourite with significant experience of the English Premier League, La Liga with Real Sociedad and the Champions League.

Sold to Arsenal for £25million in 2019, Tierney made the 125th appearance of an injury-hit spell in a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup

He was substituted after 69 minutes, leaving the field with his head in his hands after suffering what appeared to be an injury to his left leg.

There is no way we would even consider breaking wage cap for someone like KT. Suspect we will offer him 20K a week. Cannot see many clubs willing to offer him much more.
And with his injury history, center half is only position I could see him play for us, LB is way too demanding for the way Celtic play.

Signing him means we still have to buy a left back and one we buy still has to be first team quality as they will play more games.

I also don't see the point in bringing him in as CB. We don't need a lcb, we need a rcb. He's generally only played as CB in a back 5 or back 3, which we don't play.

I would be aiming to get Frame out to a Premiership team for the second half of this season. Watching him the other night and he definitely has something about him. He is good on the ball, has great pace and stamina and stuck to his task defensively as well.

It would be good to see what he can do, if he isn’t up to it then we should look to bring another left back in during the summer when Valle goes.

Even with the new CL format come the end of January we will have far fewer congested fixture schedules unless we manage to progress. So having Valle here and Tierney should be enough.

Realistically we need 2 left backs at this minute anyway? Both first team quality too as Taylor has shown to be lacking and Valle will be back to Barcelona.

CCV plays RCB and we’ve all seen that trusty and scales have their limitations…

you’re right on tierney playing in a back 3 at CB but who’d have thought he could even do that when he was moved there? He could easily adapt to the LCB role in a 2. And for most of our games now scales plays at the halfway line we attack that much. Would you rather KT’s ability to pick a pass?

Even if we sign him and pay him 40k a week he earnt us £25 million not long ago, signing a 40k player a week of his quality for free is a no brainer for me. We probably have about 150k a week in wages of deadwood already at the club

IF we are seriously considering this then the contract on offer should be per game available to play.
