    Sounds like it's inevitable..

His injury worries massively concern me..

If he's coming then he's obviously quality when fit, homegrown and better than anything we have by far. Is that overlapping fullback with real pace....but I'd want a very capable backup also as he'll be out for plenty during the season. Can't be a Johnston/Ralston type situation..

Tierney and Valle as our LB options would be brilliant. Both seem quite similar too

Didn’t realise he was on a free transfer. Get it done!

I know I'm prolly one of his biggest cheerleaders on here but by * he just needs to come back, stay fit and he'll boss that position for years along with giving us some decent emergency CB cover. If it doesn't happen in the next two windows though I'm not sure it will happen at all.

    It's basically now or never..

He isn't a player I think will even be playing football whatsoever in his early 30's. Is out of contract (I didn't even know that til I read the article). Has made basically big bucks..

I've been dead against this massively because I don't think his body can handle playing for us week to week. Probably get kicked to * like he did last time. If he wasn't getting his jaw broken he was getting studs raked down just under his knee. I also think just now, how would he deal with our busy schedule we're in.....he'd miss plenty most likely..

Then I think about when he is fit....how he's top class and miles better than anything we have. Takes Taylor out the starting lineup and makes our back 4 the most mobile one we've had maybe ever? Someone who can overlap and deliver a proper ball. Who won't be bullied and can perform in Europe..

He's a better player than the one that left us. Premier league amd la liga under his belt..

It's just that body and injuries man. Big big worry..

As I said before, there would need to be a very capable backup in with him for me to share the load..

I could see us paying a nominal fee to take him back in January, like pay Arsenal £1-2m which will go to Tierney to settle his last 6 months of his deal and he comes in.

It’s a risk given his injuries but a set of circumstances around home grown players might have us convinced it’s one worth taking.

Taylor seems like going either next month or the summer, he apparently wants £25k a week, we won’t pay it. His agent must think they can get that elsewhere.

Welsh, seems to be keen to go play football so he is another who will go in January.

That’s two of our Scottish trained (and one club going). We bring back Dane Murray he would be B List so could be in our CL squad and not be a change, I think.

Tierney if signed would be added for sure and if we are in for the Belgian winger or Norwegian one they come in for Palma, so we would be able to add one more. If we move Nawrocki on then he could be replaced in the squad.

    I absolutely adore KT.

    But no.

His injuries are just too much. I can see a scenario where we sign him on loan in January, he inevitably gets injured, then we hand Taylor an extension at the price hes after. Back to square one.

The position needs investment. Not hopes and wishes. Unfortunately thats what signing KT would mean.

It's hard to gage if he pulled his hammy or if he had cramp, it look like he felt the back of his hamstring and bbc are saying he came off injured but the twitter posts seem to suggest he's fine, I'm hoping it was just cramp because he's such a quality player but he doesn't suit Arteta's inverted full back style, the arsenal fans have always rated Tierney and he got a big applause when he came off, that's telling for me.

If he can stay fit then he is a massive upgrade to our squad..
Can you imagine Tierney and Maeda down the left and johnston + Kuhn down the right ooft!!

If we can get a 6 month loan to assess his fitness its a no brainer, if he isn't injured I think it'll happen

Aye I think it's pretty much a guarantee he's coming back now.

On paper, there's no chance we could get a LB anywhere near as good as him, but we could get one who would be available a lot more.

We do need two LB'S come summer, so bringing Tierney in on a loan in January, seeing how fit he is over the 6 months, then getting another LB in the summer to rotate with him could be smart business from ourselves. I'd be a bit more wary of a pre-contract, but still.

Wages won't matter, he won't get anywhere near his current wage anywhere else bar maybe Saudi Arabia.

If, and it's a big if, he stays fit, having him and Johnston at fullback is arguably the strongest it's ever been there in my lifetime.

Tierney on a pay as you play contract would be a decent option. He can fill in at LB and CB, he's a known quantity, right good Tim, and for the first time in a long time, we would have a left back who is not a midget. I can see why Brendan would be keen on this, especially as good left backs are very thin on the ground.

Yes, yes, yes and yes again, getting him back at 27/28 too, not finished in his mid 30s

I'm the same as many of you, his injuries concern me. But I know for a fact I'll be * buzzing to see him on the pitch for us again if it does happen.

    Bring him home.

1000% not for me. He’s a an absolute crock and the first time we are back relying on Greg Taylor in Europe, the fans on here pleading for him to come back will be slaughtering the club for not adequately preparing a LB who’s actually fit.

His quality has never been in doubt but up here, he will be targeted even more by the * hammer throwers every time he gets the ball.

Need to sign a proper left back, who can actually play the majority of games.

Great for the home grown quota too.

Personally though I think he'll know his injuries are ruining his career and will try to head off to Saudi for big money. Would love him back though.

I've had massive reservations about signing Tierney for a long time. The number of injuries he's had is insane and he hasn't played regular football for what feels like 3 or 4 years now.

With that said, I'm at the stage where I'm thinking * it and just get it done. We'd need to be careful with him, but if he signs in January and we get rid of GT that would be incredible business.

He has to be a better player now despite the injuries. Maybe not as explosive, but the quality of players/coaches he's played with and against over the years is a hundred times higher than what our players have been exposed to (a few CL games aside).

If we can keep him healthy for at least 70% of the season then it's a no brainer. Signing Valle as his understudy/competition would be the cherry on the cake because his potential is pretty huge as well I think.

If he stays 80% fit, he's world class.

The problem is that he plays 3 games and is out for months and months.

Would be a huge risk, and don’t get me wrong I’ve got reservations however now it seems closer than ever I’d be * buzzing to see him back in the hoops. Make it happen please. If we’re genuinely interested and think we can make it work financially, which we must, I can’t see him wanting to go anywhere else. He’s made his money, played down there, played abroad. Time to come home and see out his career here.

If there is a chance we can get him back then we have to make it happen. Hopefully, his more severe injury is behind him. Not playing and sitting on the sidelines doesn't help for niggles, etc. If he passes a medical fitness test get him in. His so called injury tonight has been confirmed as cramp.
