See if he has a good loan this season and stays fit, I would be moving Welsh on and promoting Murray to that club trained developing centre back.

Welsh will never be good enough and for his own sake should move on.

 

His next move is to go to a premier league club like Motherwell and get 25 games and see if he can take Welsh role as the the club trained centre half for emergency cover.

 

If Welsh is the example he will be looking to leave.

Ange blocked several loans for Welsh, because he trusted him just enough to come in if needed. And that was for 5/6 games, instead of playing a full season or a half season when it happened Winter Window. We knocked back decent money from Udinese apparently, £3.5m odd, and then they asked for a loan when he wasn’t for sale. And 6 months on Loan playing in Serie A, that would have been a lot more valuable than the 3/4 games he had to make appearances for us as an emergency option.


We’ve squandered Welsh’s potential on our bench and lower reaches lf our squad. Even if he was clear 3rd next in line CB, and he was at 21/22 odds, I’d want him out at a good level gaining experience and coming back for us to get the benefit. It’s something we have done a lot in my time supporting us, squander talent on the bench not quite good enough for hs but a reliable back up for the 3/4 games a season they’re needed. Then they’re 24, and not a young player with potential anymore

 

Celtic are likely to recall Dane Murray from his loan at Queen’s Park next month.

The central defender has had an impressive spell with the Spiders in the first half of the season and his form is now attracting interest from the Scottish Premiership and sides in League One and Two in England. A number of clubs have already made contact with Celtic who are now looking at their options. They sent Murray out to get first-team games to prove he was over his recent injury problems, which effectively left him sidelined for two seasons


The defender impressed Brendan Rodgers in pre-season and it was then agreed he should go out on loan to get more first-team experience. He headed to the Spiders and the 21-year-old more than passed that test with flying colours. His departure would be a major blow for Queen’s Park and their manager Callum Davidson, with his team currently fifth in the Championship and looking good for a promotion playoff push.

 

Strange unless we have a deal ready to make with a side down south.

Dane Murray is a good player, better than Welsh and Nawrocki imo.

Bring him home and have him competing as the 4th CB.

 

Thats what I was thinking. If Welsh and Nawrocki are both sold in January it makes sense to have Dane Murray back and in the first team squad as 4th choice center back. To be fair this would be a good move all round really. Bring in some money for Welsh and Nawrocki and trim the squad of players who have no future at the club and at the same time bring Murray into the first team squad and see how he does being involved with the first team on a day to day basis. Then you can reassess come the summer as to whether he has a chance or a new center back needs to be signed.

 

Had a good preseason and looks like a good 6 month loan. Unless we sign another cb I think getting him some game time in spl or down south would be a great experience for him for the season after
