He plays the ball much sharper than Trusty which helps our playing style. Trusty slows the ball down too much and also plays the ball with less pace, often selling players short. Scales allows our midfield to get into the spaces because he plays forward much quicker.

He pretty much caused their 2nd goal I thought, we had took good control by that point and then he passed it right to them from im sure inside our box to their player like 15 yards outside the box.

Directly to him as well in a straight line im not even sure who he was passing to, that lead to them getting I think a corner and then a 2nd and scoring.

An absolute blunder, they never showed it on TV when I watched the replay.

His crossing and general play just isnt good enough, dont mind him as a squad player.

I love how he opens up his body and almost every time the pass from the back out wide to Maeda on the left never fails to reach him.

Hard not to like big Scalesy, but yesterday at times he was calamitous. Still played his part though.

Watch the corner, about four of our players are asleep then Engels gets outfought for the ball then they score. It's difficult to pin point the blame on one particular individual for that goal.

Aye but it was a total blunder of a mistake, im not sure if theres video of it but I don't think anyone was even near where he passed the ball. Not like the hun intercepted the ball or he slipped or nothing, he just knocked it right to a hun with nobody round him right outside the box. The hun was just standing there, not pressing him, not running to cut out a pass or anything and he passed the ball directly to him.

Was even much worse than Taylor giving the ball away for their first goal.

Could have ended up a goal instead of a corner.

I actually thought he was a big part in turning the game around his passing was much more intense and tried to push us on..

Still, he like others made it harder than it should of been.. could have easily been a penalty due to his poor touch..I'd definitely be claiming for that.. Cerni looks on the line of the box..

Makes it sweeter how the most blatant Hun officials, 'cheated' them.. :56:

Rodgers said after the game he brought him on exactly for that reason. Was a turning point for me.

We looked a lot better when he came on, few mistakes aside.

For me he had a total mixed bag when coming on. Was unlucky not to score with his header just after coming on, another day that drops just inside the post. He did try get it out for the back quicker at times but at others such as the freekick on the edge of the box, he can’t turn the ball over there, he washed a good few good attacking situations with ridiculous attempts at balls over the top that just weren’t on. For the third goal the first mistake is his he heads a long ball from them under no pressure straight down the middle of the pitch, a bit of composure and he can nod it down to Taylor and we retain possession. Taylor didn’t have any pressure on him and acres of space. I know it’s a small thing but it’s one of the things that CCV does better than any of our other defenders, just having that awareness of what’s happening. He had the full game in front of him and the ball is in the air for a while. Don’t get me wrong Maeda failing to show Cerny down the line and the three we have on the edge of our box all failing to spot the danger and step out to Cerny and Ralston and CCV losing Danilo are more at fault but it was just an example of what I felt was an untidy performance from him.

I found the whole thing confusing TBH. In my memory, it looked like we'd pushed up and left Diomande offside and then Engels inexplicably ran back to pick him up, playing him on in the process, and then gets outmuscled. I found it really odd. I need to watch this back as I've clearly missed something.

@Callum McGregor: I've watched it back and I blame Hatate now! :56:

    upload_2024-12-17_16-32-36.png

Well done Engels for spotting that Hatate hadn't pushed up with the rest and was playing Diomande on.

Edit: And kyogo and Maeda are far too slow to react and provide support when Diomande gets the ball.

Thought he initially gave us a calmness in defence and he stepped out with the ball a couple of times and it broke their press as it took out Igamane and drew players towards him.
A couple of ropey moments which i feel was in keeping with the performance of the team but definitely impacted the game positively.

Aye there's a few faults for that goal. I'd love to see how it's analysed within the club.

He has a mistake or two in him but he adds so much to our press compared to Trusty. Goals win games, it's a gamble but his form the past few seasons has been outstanding. The bhoy is worth the gamble.

Trustsy has more pace but doesn't create in the way Scales does.

Wonderful to have those two options there though. It makes a versatile squad.
