Left winger is the priority. Forward planning for the left back position if Taylor leaves is another priority, so a left back. Don't think we have any hope of Valle staying beyond the summer.

Other than those two positions I'm not expecting anything else in January, unless there are some unexpected outgoing transfers.

Much the same as everyone else, a physical improvement at left back who is good at both ends (essentially a left sided Johnston).

A left winger with skill and decent pace, someone who is ready to start games and contribute straight away.

The above two are my priorities. If we shift Nawrocki, I would try sign someone that could cover in Right back and centre back as I don’t think Ralston is good enough. Annoyingly they always seem to find players like that. Even better if they can also do a job at defensive centre midfield.

Holm seems totally out the picture so if we could move him on and get someone like Diawara at Lyon I would be up for that.

Probably more likely in the summer but someone with the vision and ability that Mooy had could really help this team in midfield and I think it’s time for Hatate to move on.

PLEASE * A LEFT BACK WHO CAN DEFEND. We've only been needing one since KT left.

All that and a second winger, imo. I want one left-footer for the right and one right-footer for the left. Only then do we have real competition for Kühn and Maeda.

In the unlikely event we get all that in Jan, then in summer all we need (before anyone leaves) is an extra full-back for either side, imo. I love Tony and I’d still keep him around, but he isn’t CL quality. Maybe a better 4th choice CB if I’m being greedy.

Think several of us have done that. I definitely have. One or two of them would still be viable now. Laughable the club can’t land on one, let alone the dozens that have been credibly suggested.

Taylor won't be allowed to run contract down so maybe see him move down south like turnbull did last winter window

Ah yeah. I've had a total brain fart and thought he had been away longer than he actually has.

I agree with everyone here really, the things we lack are:
    • LB of real quality
    • LW to compete with Maeda
    • Creative midfielder
From who we’ve been linked with, I’d be happy with Tierney, Miller and Toure.

Need to get rid of the players who just don’t have a shot here either:
    • Palma
    • Bernabei
    • Holm
    • Nawrocki
    • Yang (loan?)
And honestly, if we get any mental bids for Hatate then I would consider it and try reinvest in someone more reliable. I know that’s a mega wild opinion and nobody will agree.

CM with pace and physicality e.g. Diawara from Lyon

I'd argue we need not only a LW but another RW to properly challenge and help fill in for Kuhn. Palma to be sold and Yang to be loaned.

    Kuhn
    Maeda
    LW
    RW
    Forrest

We won't get all that in January so I'd settle for LB, LW and CM.

LW has to be the main priority, I think we're fine on the right with Kuhn and Forrest, and I know Forrest can play both wings, but we really need someone to properly challenge Maeda on the left.

After that, I'd say LB, but I don't think we'll get one in January, we're in a * situation with Taylor only having 6 months left and Valle a loan, and the idea of bringing a third LB in might seem to much to those in charge, but I hope we do it anyway as going into the qualifiers with no LB would be a nightmare.

I'd like another CB in but we'd need to punt Nawrocki and Welsh first, and I don't see both leaving in the same window.

Lastly, a CDM wouldn't go amiss, I think it's almost guaranteed Hatate leaves in the summer, but I wouldn't be replacing him with a like for like, I'd be going all out for that Diawara at Lyon.

    - What I want

Just a LW. Assuming Jota isn't an option, gimme Bazoumana Toure from Hammarby. Should be fairly expensive, but he seems like a terrific talent. Team is playing great. I'd be happy with minimal changes. Quality over quantity.

    - What I expect

We are 11 points ahead of the huns. If the past is any indication, the board won't spend money from a position of strength. I'm expecting a project or/and a loan with an option to buy.
