If Monaco can win tonight they go level with Villa on pts and GD and play each other next .
Monaco will be fighting Villa for last 16 spot so can hopefully help us especially if we beat YB

 

True I just want YB to have no morale left by the time we play then to minimise the chance of an upset

 

The table is beginning to look a lot more scary

Being honest regardless of results tonight our job remains the same. Beat Young Boys at home and we will be through probably somewhere between 18th to 21st.

We have no chance of making top 8 and likely never did. I think it is going to turn out you need 18 points for that.

Top 9-16 we would have had to win one of those other games and then on 14 points we would have had a shot at that.

It’s really down to beat YB we are through, a draw and we are likely dicing with goal difference.

Edit: don’t get me wrong I am not saying it is an easy game but it is the clarity of what we need to do now having failed to win either of the last 2 games.

 

I'd better wear my reinforced pants that night and strap myself in to be on the safe side. Seriously though, I think a lot of us were maybe getting carried away with ourselves after the Leipzig game and just to get into the play offs would be progress

 

Win for us against young boys will do for me . And at celtic park we will do them. And I am quite confident of a good game for us against villa

 

Gotta say this new 36 team league is so much better than the * 4 team groups imo. Few of the big boys must be getting nervy tho about making knockouts.

 

Is a draw against young boys likely to be enough do we think?

 

10 points I think would be good enough .. but we will take young boys

 

10pts apparently gives a 90% chance of playoffs according to the simulations they've run.


but we should be scudding them at home and mibbes get something away at Villa as a wee bonus especially if they sitting on 16pts going into last round of fixtures and mibbes play a 2nd string.

 

Honestly, and this might sound greedy, I would like us to finish a bit higher than 24th. Don't want to be in there by the skin of our teeth given the draw we had. Want to be a bit higher than that.

Victory over Young Boys should do the trick anyway

 

Juventus scored so we moved up above Man City.
They will be raging that a team from crap league is above them.

 

Hopefully Juve beat City. Good chance if they do that we can finish above them as we've got Young Boys and they're away at PSG next..

Likes of Bologna hopefully hold out or nick a win at Benfica to bring them closer..

Young boys to maybe nick a point in Stuttgart be helpful..

Watching the Young Boys game… 4-1 down now. Think anything but a win for us would be majorly disappointing. Very weak team.

I keep posting the same thing today...young boys isn't a given, we are good at * the bed when the pressure is on in Europe. It would actually be a disaster if we dont make the playoff considering we will never get an easier draw as this in the CL again
