Its just a fact that he will get compared to other players in his position.
Right now, he ticks most boxes, and I would find it hard to find faults in the few appearances he has had since he came in.
Its just calling it as it is in the here and now.
Engles will develop into a class act over time.

Just wondering , with the way Rodgers is currently rotating the squad, he could be in line for a start in the Cup Final..

Can’t help but feel for him, can’t do any more than he did.

However, he’ll play his part. I have no doubt about that.

He’ll start against Hibs at the weekend I think, plenty games coming up he’ll get a start. It may be harsh but it’s all good competition for the team.

Don't think it will affect him one bit. He knows the talent we have in midfield and will have no problem being rotated.

It's all about mentality. Our whole ethos is built around it and given how together they all are (just look at the unique angle celebration shots), it's not going to be an issue any time soon.

It all starts with Brendan and especially Calmac, they set the tone for the whole squad and Luke is all-in with it by the looks of it. Hope he gets on and lights the place up.

For those who are in love.....
Thought the wee man was good at times today..

Then * a pass to Schmeichel they almost scored from and backed out of a tackle he was favourite for second half which surprised me..

More good than bad though. Really like him..

That wee reverse pass for Johnston second half was lovely that went across the face of goal..

He started poorly but grew into the game, Missing that sitter may have subdued him a bit.

A bit disgusted at how he never went into that tackle. Good player, no doubt, but I expected better in that instance.

Luke McCowan believes Celtic have shown they are capable of mixing it at the top level and feels a first Champions League win away from home in seven years is the next step in putting themselves back on the map in European football’s top competition.

The Parkhead outfit face Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia on Tuesday night in the knowledge a victory would almost certainly secure a place in the top 24 of the new-look league system and a spot in the play-off round.

And their hopes have been lifted by Dinamo putting out a statement over the weekend, conceding they are in a ‘crisis of results’ after their own Ultras abused them in the wake of five games without a victory. Manager Nenad Bjelica claimed they only have 14 fit players.

Celtic have eight points from their first five Champions League fixtures with 10 expected to be enough to make it through.

However, statisticians Opta stated before the competition started that 16 points will offer a 98 per cent chance of finishing in the top eight and going straight to the last 16 — and a win in Zagreb will keep Brendan Rodgers’ side in with a chance of reaching that total with a visit by Young Boys and a trip to Aston Villa to come.

The Scottish champions’ last triumph on the road in UEFA’s premier tournament came in a 3-0 victory at Anderlecht in September 2017 during Rodgers’ first spell in charge and McCowan insists taking three points from foreign soil again would be a significant leap forward

I think winning away in the Champions League would be massive,’ said the midfielder. ‘It’s been a while since we’ve won away from home in the Champions League and I think that’s probably one of the things the boys are looking towards.

‘We’re trying to get that, but, listen, we know it’s a hard thing to do. It’s been since 2017 and there’s been unbelievable teams the club has played against away from home in the Champions League.

‘The boys are showing they can compete at that level. That they can do it. Being involved in it, I can tell you that the Champions League is the hardest possible thing you’re playing in, but it’s also one where you want to believe that you’re at those standards.

‘I can’t speak on behalf of the boys that have played here before, but I know now that we are at those standards and we just kind of need to keep pushing

Dinamo lurched into crisis mode after drawing at home to minnows Slaven Belupo on Friday with infamous fan group Bad Blue Boys turning on them when they attempted to applaud fans at the final whistle.

That led the club hierarchy to go to the extraordinary lengths of releasing a statement about their recent troubles.

An open letter to fans read: ‘The game against Slaven showed we are in a crisis of results which has largely been influenced by injuries to the most high-quality of our first-team players, but there is no crisis within the club.

‘We have funds for the next transfer window. We will work our way out of this results crisis and return to winning ways. Surrender is not an option in Dinamo’s DNA.

Just like in previous seasons, we will get out of our present difficulties together with your support.’

Staying focused on what Celtic have to do in the Maksimir Stadium, McCowan was asked if the club should have achieved more in European competition over the last decade or more.

‘You’re probably asking the wrong guy,’ he replied, having only signed from Dundee in the summer. ‘I was probably watching the games here, instead of being in the team that’s involved in it.

‘Look, I guess you can say that, but with the new format in the Champions League, it’s a big benefiting factor because you’re playing more games against different opponents

We just want to show that we’re at that level and can push teams, regardless of whether they’re at home or away and that’ll be the message come Tuesday.’
