After all that there is small matter of getting keepers for the clean sheets

Assuming CalMac and Forrest play every game until end of season and assuming we get to at least play offs and Scottish Cup final CalMac will get to 14th, level with Jimmy McStay and 3 short of Patsy Gallagher and Forrest would be 12th a 3rd of the way between Jinky and Jimmy McMenemy.

It would then take both of them until midway through season 2026-27 to get to 600.

just picked that up from a talkceltic post in 2014 but didn’t know how to insert the thread and it’s obviously not up to date pst then! But historically for some of the players already retired by then it’s a good point of reference

edit: actually the date it said on the website can’t be right cos barkas didn’t play for us in 2014 :43:

If CalMac plays every remaining match this season he could make his 500th match against Aston Villa and in doing so become only the 19th player in Celtic history to achieve that feat.

Not sure the exact date whoever originally posted that researched it up to! I searched “Celtic all time clean sheets” in google and a talkCeltic link came up that included the quoted list

Just done another check for GF and GA
Since they were founded Celtic have scored 14,285 competitive goals in all competitions as of tonight and conceded 6,700 in total.
So GD is 7,585 so they have scored more than double the conceded amount of goals.

Assuming that Celtic get to Scottish Cup final and qualify for next rd in CL and both Forrest and CalMac play every match remaining this season Forrest will get to 12th and CalMac will be 15th, 2 short of the legendary Patsy Gallacher.
It would also mean Forrest would have to play all of next season to reach 600 and CalMac would have to do the same plus half of the following season to also reach 600

Need to score average of 3.8 goals per game for the remainder of season including getting to next round of CL to be in with a chance of beating all time Celtic scoring record achieved by the Lions.
Currently on 2.96 goals per game

These results are including the war years.
Will change it later tonight to deduct the war years (WW2) as realised it’s a big difference and they weren’t included in official figures by SFA.

Assuming they’re still in existence it will take us until midway through season 2027/28 to overtake the results also assuming we record a clean sweep of every match until then including meetings in Scottish Cup and League Cup.
That would probably mean us completing 3 more trebles including this season.
