100% agree. Having a strong squad hampered us today in that sense.

It feels like we will pull away more as the weeks progress. I can understand last year given how tight it was, not blooding more youth but this year is when it should happen. An actual plan to the first team should be there for the exceptional performers.

It was the under ange as well even when games were done by half time.

I don't object to younger players going out on loan rather than the bench. If Valle and Engels are the benchmark level for a first team 20-21 year old player, then I'd expect a realistic prospect at 18-19 to be able to shine in the Scottish championship playing for a raith/dunfermline/Partick level team. Getting regular games at a professional level could serve them just as well as the odd bench appearance.

I just don't see what the B team in the lower league offers at all. Are any players who beat Gala 2 0 yesterday a step forward to playing for celtic? Almost no chance.

Not only did we not bring on a youth, there was literally not a single youngster on the bench. Even the token Stephen Welsh was missing.

Daniel Cummings has scored 22 goals already and it is the 1st of December. That kind of form should be rewarded. He'd be mad to stay here if an offer comes in.

I can envisage another Doak scenario where we'll panic and give him minutes against Rangers in an attempt to convince him to stay, but he'll already have 1 foot out the door.

I'm not saying Cummings or any of our other youths are on the level of Doak, but we are seriously stunting the development of some top prospects by having them play lowland league football.

Welsh is 24. Surely past being considered a youth player?

Yeah, that was my point. He isn't even a youth anymore but is the only token academy player that we have that is anywhere near the first team. Welsh should have left years ago.

Ralston was probably the last successful graduate and he made his debut 8 years ago. I feel like more people should be concerned by this.

Sunderland have been watching Cummings for a short while talking about £310k cross border fee

They seem to think he fits their model
Of youth and won’t require a high wage.

If I was him I’d leave. Seeing what they’ve done with Chris rigg and Jobe Bellingham they trust in youth if they prove themself.

only way id be staying if I was Cummings is if there’s a chance kyogo leaves this summer and he could be idahs back up (which if that happened and the club didn’t spend big on a replacement) most fans would complain

    Aye

I would seriously think about that move if i was him.

Could be guaranteed football as well

Celtic need to offer similar or better to keep him.
