Can’t say enough good things about this guy since he’s signed for us. Would be delighted if he started on Wednesday he’s earned it and not just from today.

He’s a class act who’s improving with quality players around him.

I have no qualms about him playing at any time never mind midweek.

Good interview there, very honest, frank and humble. Great wee player who I think should be playing a lot more because he makes a massive impact on games.

Massive Tim too which helps a lot.

It's a strange one why he hasn't been getting more minutes with Engels having been off the boil for a while. Hopefully he starts to see more significant game time now. With the run of fixtures we have coming up he absolutely should.

He brings so much energy to the game and always seems to move into space to be an option for a team mate. He was very effective at almost taking up the right wing spot when there was space there today and Johnston came inside.

He also makes good forward runs, has an eye for a pass and has a good finish on him too. He is a very good pick up for £1m.

Watching the game back and seeing how often he sees and tries to pick out forward runs, I'd love to see him start a few games with Kyogo. The lad never stops running but his runs often go ignored or unseen, I reckon they'd link up well.

Biggest compliment I can pay him is that he looks so clean on the ball. Cracking technical ability.

Personally I would be starting him on Wed. However, have a feeling BR will drop him to the bench for Hatate.

That performance is what I've been expecting to see from Engels. He's a quality footballer.

I thought it was a very clever signing at the time, but I think he is looking even better than I expected.

Not sure people feel the need to have a dig at Engels, whilst paying other midfielders compliments..

They are different players, McCowan has adapted brilliantly to playing for us and will be a very important player for us for years to come, maybe even a future Captain as you'd imagine he'd be around for a good number of years..

He knows the Scottish game but is as of yet untested at CL level.. would have no issues starting him in a CL game, btw..

Engels has proved he can play well in the Champions League and is a Belgian internationalist. With an incredible amount of potential. He is young, 6yrs younger than McCowan if we're going to compare them. Trying to find his feet with a massive club in a new country, a bit of patience is required.

Getting on Engels back as a fanbase achieves nothing, trust Rodgers to develop him as required.
