Alex Valle's glove: four 'reasons' to oppose returning to Barça

The full-back, on loan to Celtic Glasgow, got another assist against Club Brugge and has become one of the team's great facilitators

Alex Valle continues to take advantage of his loan to Celtic Glasgow to show that he is ready for the elite . The full-back on loan from Barça is making a difference and showing that he has a glove on his foot

Valle, who is on his second loan after his time at Levante, has already provided four assists in 10 games for the Scottish side . The defender has provided two assists in the Scottish Premier League, one in the Champions League and another in the Cup. The last one was on Wednesday in his team's draw (1-1) against Club Brugge.

Maeda scored Celtic's goal after Valle made a pass into space . The winger completed the move with a great cut and, after taking control of the ball, scored a great goal with a curling shot.

The full-back, on loan from Barça, started in the Champions League and played 31 minutes . In recent weeks, the Barça player has found it more difficult to get into the team after having his best moment between September and October, when he enjoyed more continuity

Valle has started three times in the league, twice in the Cup and once in the top European league . In total, he has played 605 minutes, 10 games and four assists. The full-back has the confidence of the coach, but has not managed to become an undisputed player. His situation is one of the recurring debates around the team, as many fans demand more minutes for the Blaugrana.

His loan status works against him, as clubs tend to 'invest' more in players they own . Barça is closely following the development of the player, who already left very good impressions in Barça's preseason with Flick

The German was very satisfied but the player himself ended up betting on a new loan to have continuity . At Barça, Balde's presence made it very difficult for him to have a leading role. After Valle's loan, Barça ended up betting on Gerard Martín, as a second option for the left back. The former Cornellà player played his best game against Brest , after weeks of leaving some doubts.

We should go all-out to sign him permanently.

I'd be for signing him permanently.

Think he's got the making to enjoy the loan spell then be ready to be our first team left back fully next year.

Would need to promote from within the next youth talent. Or look to sign someone that would fit that roll.

Even if we can't get him permanently, it would be good to get another season out of him and that would be a massive benefit to us, him and Barcelona.

He might be able to get a bit of a better move in terms of league but what he gains here is more of an advantage, in terms of playing for a team that dominates possession, expects their players to play passing, attacking football and we expect our players to have a winning mentality, which is also required at Barcelona.

He should be our first choice left back at this stage.

Would rather we didnt have to be in the position of going into a 2nd year loan with no option to buy, although wouldnt grumble if it did happen.

Ideally, we make LB our next big signing priority (is it too much to ask for getting a big hardy athletic black guy!) and have a Matthew Anderson or Mitchell Frame step up IF Taylor is moving on.

    I get that.
You don't, ideally, want to be stuck with loans covering key positions.
But if Valle continues as he is, then a second loan season would be ideal.
I guess if we had signed him in the window just closed, we'd only get two years anyway.

Would need to ensure we are setting ourselves up though for when that hypothetical second season ended. Be that a youth prospect getting adequate time next year to be able to step up the following season.
Or scouting and lining up multiple targets to bring someone in, of the calibre and experience of at least AJ when we signed him on the right

The squad is in a reasonably good shape that proper development and planning of positions should be really worked on.

Suppose the good thing about that MIGHT be if Valle came here for a 2nd year extension, plays well wins trophies and shows up in Europe then returns to Barca and pushes on into the first team, then there's scope for a kind of "unofficial" feeder relationship with Barca - could possibly get further loan/transfer deals aff them.

All hypothetical chat of course, but these things happen.

You know me, I'd love nothing more than that sort of link with Barcelona.

I'd be also looking at, the hypothetical second season, if Valle then went back as a starter for Barcelona, it's sort of like them being able to trust a player coming from us as being able to play at their level.

Surely would then help our transfer system, where players could start to look at us as a legit stepping stone to a higher club again. If you perform well enough, that step to a Barca level can happen from Celtic. Rather than needing to go via a midtable club.

Defo wouldnt be a bad idea like!

But in regards to Valle, I like the laddie. Made an instant impact when he came on midweek (even if at times I was sitting there screaming for him not to let the ball bounce such as any kid is taught early bells!)
