Deserves to start from now on imo.

First half, if our CB won the ball in the air it would get picked up by them in midfield and they would be breaking on us … thought he defensively shore up the midfield a lot.

I hope he starts at the weekend. I like him a lot as a player, especially his work rate.

Fair play to him, impact showed straight from the minute he galloped onto the pitch.

Has much more quality than Engels so should start. It really is that simple.

Im sorry mate thats just a load of *. He put it on a plate for him and he showed some lovely touches in the time he was on the field.
Bernardo just looks far more cultured and assured in his role. He has put in a few performances that I feel Engels is yet to reach.
Engels needs to settle and find his role and atm taking him out might do him the world of good as the pressure is building and his performances becoming increasingly scrutinised.

Frankly, regarding their relative technical ability, I think your view is just as nuts as you say you think mine is. To me, Bernardo's technical ability is pretty average.
As for the rest, I might actually agree with you TBH.

Bernado is the Celtic fan's favourite choice, he proved it in last year's Cup Final dispossessing Raskin, and laying that winning goal for Idah on a plate. He has proved it continually this season coming on as a substitute and doing the business.

Engels by comparison has been very poor and sulking on the pitch, and living on his £11M price tag, he is actually beginning to stink the place out, and I think he needs dropped for his own good, because he is not going to be able to play himself out of this loss of confidence, going by what we are witnessing on the pitch, and I would hate to see our fans starting to get on his back if we persist with him, to the exclusion of real triers and go getters like Bernado and McCowan.

It is strange cos he was on fire and most people were saying he stopped up to the plate and more to replace oreilly. Only to bench him for an under performing Engels, don’t get me wrong he’ll come good…. But yeah Bernardo back in the starting line up please

Baller, seems like he loves it here too! Always gives his all! Won a watch with this lad, what did we get him for 3.5 million or so for the Portuguese u21 captain.

Its nuts to find fault in a assist that Bernardo has laid on a plate for Idah to score.
Domestically, Engels only betters Bernardo in long pass accuracy.
Every other technical stat, Bernardo is better. Shooting, conversion rate, passing completion, dribble success, shots on target…

Admittedly, in europe, Engels is better but id argue that Bernardo hasnt seen a lot of playing time.

Stats have to be interpreted and Engels' form is not good. However, Engels has a better first touch, a better range of passing and better weight on his pass than Bernardo. Bernardo is very average for all 3 of those things. I genuinely struggle to see how anyone sees anything different there.

On the other hand, Bernardo has incredible awareness (both offensively and defensively) and reads the game better, uses his body better than Engels, has a better workrate than Engels and never hides.

I think Bernardo is a great player and I can see the argument for Bernardo over Engels at the moment, I genuinely can; but technically, Engels is a level above.

    Statistically and factually he isnt.

You are trying to present your opinion as fact when the stats tell a different story.

In terms of work rate, I think you would be hard pushed to find a player who runs more than Engels. I actually think its part of his problem. He tries too hard and is gassed by about 65 minutes. He isnt positionally disciplined enough.

I would be surprised if he doesn't start at the weekend. He deserves it on his form.

Showed great feet in that moment as well cutting from one to the other for the shot.
