    Wow. How bad was that..

Played and passed off the park with ease. We've looked completely clueless against a good side that are well drilled..

Honestly that midfield has been pathetic. All 3 have been poor for me and lost easy possession. Hatate and Engels unforgivable on a night like tonight..

Taylor getting the run around and half * 50/50's. I cannot stand him..

Maeda beat his man once but every challenge has been timid, hasn't gone at his man since and just looks lost..

I'd seriously be considering Bernardo and McCowan for a bit more bite in that midfield..

    Valle as well, rapid..

Manager has got it wrong here. We've looked spooked from minute one. No ideas and hasn't looked capable of changing it. We all knew the line-up would be the same as Tynecastle from the start when maybe and probably, it shouldn't have..

Bruges have done their homework and have nullified us. They can get the ball forward and be 3/4 up the park in 2/3 passes. Very well set up.

That said, we look flat and very 1 dimensional as well. Change of system and a sub needs to happen for the start of the 2nd half or it'll more of the same.

I hate how managers are so reluctant to make HT changes… it’s only to spare players a bit of embarrassment .

Hideous stuff. Everything good we did against Leipzig we haven't done tonight. Every player bar KS and Trusty has been awful. Again in Europe we are the authors of our own downfall, that goal being a classic example. Brugge aren't even doing anything exceptional but they're pressing, keeping their shape, winning EVERY second ball and EVERY tackle and dropping into space to receive passes. We on the other hand aren't pressing hard enough and seem scared to even attempt to play our normal attacking game. We have to get the next goal simple as that otherwise this game is done.

Don't think our back 4 are being aggressive and positive enough

    Agreed.

This is a throwback to games in the past where we've played a side more about our level and looked to have underestimated them.

I dunno why Engels is starting. He hasn't earned it at all.

Again midfiled have been static. Barring calmac who's bailing out defence.
Look scared to make the decisive passes and opt to pass back. Need to be looking and showing for the ball more and move about. They're soaking it up and lol more assure d

stinking from Carter vickers. He should be one of our leaders out there. Lacking confidence in this game so far he needs to get the head on for second half

We were that bad I'm not sure we'll be able to snap out of it.

Imagine playing Champions League football and giving a goal to the opposition.

All up hill and it's all our own fault.

We simply haven't closed them down, closed channels down, close space down, create clear chances, limited movement from our players on and off the ball.

I'm struggling to think of any positives from that half.

Aye I had a feeling this would be a really tough one but we'd sneak it. They're really good though..

We need some sort of lift in aggression out there from the off and to press as a unit. We've been doing it more sporadically and they've went through us far too comfortably..

Engels needs a spell on the bench for a couple of games. Bernardo is showing more and merits it..

Thing is you could maybe have seen this coming, we were really poor against Kilmarnock all game and terrible against Hearts in the first half, we've lost a bit of mojo recently, despite still winning.

    Massive second half coming up.

Looks like we’re playing with fear and I’m not sure why.

Very little penetration and ok, Brugge are restricting passes very well but no one is committing players through the middle. No one is taking the ball under pressure and turning the man. It’s all too safe.

It’s almost as if we’ve accepted Brugge can cut through us at will and we don’t want to concede possession. Sadly, if we don’t commit their players, they’ll continue to drive higher up the pitch.

We’re not doing enough to make them consider dropping back a few yards when they’re in possession. We need to increase the tempo, Hatate and Cal need to turn when receiving the ball back to goal.

I’d love to say this is purely tactical but I don’t think our midfield are doing enough individually.
