Would be surprised if Taylor & Engels didn't start tho..

 

Taylor would get made mincemeat of, were he to start. Skov Olsen is about as bad a match-up for Taylor as he’s likely to face this whole season. He’s good at doing all the things that Taylor is worst at defending.

 

Same tempo as the Leipzig game please and what will be will be.

It's fantastic to know that this isn't our only big chance to get to the 10 points we more or less need for qualifying.

 

We will be on 10 points after a superb win tonight

 

I got my season ticket in season 92/93 and let me tell u.....there are no words to describe how bad we were at that point. Tony Hayes, Andy Paton, the return of McAvennie, Wayne's Biggins, Stuart Slater, Carl Muggleton, Mark McNally, Willie Falconer etc...etc......it was bleak bleak times.

I'm still positive that we'd have been fighting relegation if it hadn't been for Boyd, Collins and McStay. I dread to think how bad it would have gotten without those 3. Carried us for seasons on end those 3. Peter Grant to some degree aswell

Taylor rarely let's us down but LB and was excellent v Leipzig...

But aye, he definitely struggles with real pace at times and will need Maeda to help, who is pivotal.. Taylor is also really important to the system we play though and that's why he'll likely start.

 

Would take a draw all day long; another win would be fantastic, though. ‘Mon the Celts!!

 

I actually think he detracts from the system by not overlapping, but Maeda’s pace and near omnipresence masks it.

What Taylor does really add to the system is another player apart from McGregor who can recycle possession and pull the strings from midfield with their passing technique. This is why many of us recognise a natural midfielder in him.

But a typical Rodgers left-back he isn’t.

 

Aye, that's it.. his midfield positioning is important and Rodgers talks about it often.. it's one of the reasons Johnston has seen himself in the box more often.. it's a role that's developed from Ange and he's excellent at playing it..

He's does overlap at times and work rate is incredible..

It does leave us exposed on the counter though..and he can be a defensive weaklink. Trusty and Maeda's pace will be essential tonight.

 

If we win and Zagreb win we go above Dortmund into 10th place with only 3 teams playing tonight that can push us down to about 13th place but if that happens we will also be ahead of Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Man City

 

We will know after the away match at Zagreb what we need to do to get at least a play off spot and if we win tonight I think we will be one of the seeded teams in that play off meaning our 2nd leg will be at home.

 

It was so weird! Often people tell me supporting Celtic is so easy cause we win almost everything! Though, the forst cup I seen lifted in person was in 2001, first old firm win i seen was the 6-2. Before that, i only seen us lose against them, never saw any live tittles till the MoN one. Only watched one game during the season we stopped them from winning the 10, so i wont count that.

 

Absolutely buzzing.

 

Same here, although I do think Engels will play well tonight and with a point to prove, so if Engels starts I won't be disappointed

He's a Sammy or a Forster, isn't he? He has horrible flaws that can cost us against good teams (e.g. at Dortmund) and amazing attributes that can make all the difference against teams that are better than us on paper (e.g against Leipzig). It's a cliche; but if he had any kind of pace and strength, he wouldn't be here.

 

These are a decent outfit and should not be underestimated which I doubt BR will do.. a draw wouldn't be a bad result but again like any other home game 3 points probably needs to be taken..

I expect Brugge will be well aware of the press after the leipzig game.. gonna be an interesting game, few goals too I reckon
