We will have to be right at it for this one. Club Brugge have been a bit erratic this year in their domestic form where they have been very good at home but not so away. In Europe it’s hard to say

-they done ok against Dortmund but ultimately lost 3-0,
    - they huffed and puffed away to Sturm Graz who have been similar level to Slovan Bratislava in the competition to date. 1-0
    - they seem to have had plaudits for their performance in Milan but ultimately went down 3-1
    - they beat Villa in bizarre circumstances during what was largely a stuffy game where they were marginally the better team but Villa looked off it.

As always we need to be prepared for the best version of Brugge. I think the first goal will be massive, we get it, get our tails up and crowd up they have a lot of young players and could crumble much like Leipzig. However, they get it they are organised and have pace and quality to hurt us on the break.

I think it will be a tight affair like a 2-1 or something. Just hoping it’s in our favour as this would be a massive win given the circumstances we find ourselves in.

If we win we can move up to 6th depending on other results.
If we lose we could drop to 29th if worst happens.
    Hope we destroy Brugge.
Just hope there aren’t any wee arseholes at the game with flares that * it up for us as UEFA are just waiting for us to * it up.

Think this will be a really hard match. They're a pretty good team, realistically could go either way

This is where BR earns his money, we're slight favourites against an evenly matched team Home advantage so important, we need to make the most of that.

    Nervous about this one.

Aye. Early on was much more bullish about this being one we should win. Guess we find out soon enough.

Will be interesting to see what Rodgers does given he's already surprised most people with his game plans already.

We have to win on Wednesday, if we don't we have to take at least 4 points from Zagreb and Young Boys because we aren't getting any points against Aston Villa away

98% chance of qualifying for a playoff spot with 10 points.

We win this, we will be having our eyes on qualifying as top 8.

Listening to 20 minute tims podcast match preview gives me hope.

The English stato analysing Brugge thinks they're there for us to have a go at.

    Hoping he's right.

Home advantage is everything. It should be an uncomfortable night for them but everyone needs to turn up.

    3-1 to us.

I remember them being in the cup winners cup or something years ago.

    No where near us.

I'm bricking it now. I haven't seen these play; but their results and everything I've read suggest that they are a far better side than I had thought. If we play like we did against Leipzig, we should have enough to win. If we are off it, as we so often are after an international break, it could be a bad one.

We were flying going into the Leipzig game. I hate international breaks. There were a couple of moments in the first half against Leipzig where they tried to press us and we played some incredible football to get out of it (one of those quick passing sequences was my favourite moment watching Celtic this season) and I think that was quite important as it made them think twice about pressing us too hard. I don't know if we are currently at the level where we can do that.

On the positive side, a tough game at Tynecastle or Pittodrie is probably about as near as you can get to a challenge in our league other than the derby games. That kind of game might be better for getting the players back up to speed than a romp at CP against some diddy team. Hopefully the fixture computer has helped us there. It's still going to be an enormous step up, though.

It looks an absolute belter of a game. They have really good quality players and seem evenly matched to us, a good midfield and quality down the wide areas with a big striker and two decent centre-backs.

Looks like they play pretty much old Rodgers style...

    Mignolet
    Seys Ordenez Mechele De Cuyper
    Onyedika Jashari
    Olsen Vanaken Tzolis
    Nilssen

    Gordon
    Lustig Boyata Ajer Tierney
    Brown McGregor
    Forrest Armstrong Sinclair
    Dembele

Them in good form, doing well in the CL, good players all over their team they should be confident and then we should be confident going for 4? in a row at home in the CL. Both teams scoring goals and no real pressure on either of us, we don't need to win or need draws or anything so should be an open game as both teams still have a chance to win other games after and we don't need that many points.

Could be a classic, would love to do them like 4-3 with a last minute winner.

Seen their next 2 games are Sporting then Juventus at home and they only need 4 points probably so you'd think they'd come here and have a go at winning knowing then they'd only need to draw one of their home games and it's a bit of a free hit for them as they could easily beat Sporting and draw with Juventus which would do them anyway.

Their away record in Europe is really good the last 2 seasons.

Have drawn away to Atletico, Leverkusen, Fiorentina and Osasuna and beat Besiktas, Sturm Graz, PAOK, Molde, Bodo/Glimt and Lugano.

Only lost 4 of their last 15 away games in Europe to Milan, Porto, Benfica and AGF.

:fear: They should be due an away defeat though, their last 10 they have won 7, drew 2 and only lost 1.

It's funny how any confidence always ebbs away in the run up to the game and I'm always scared by kick off. We need a big performance here. If we don't show up, we're in trouble.
