He doesn't seem agile enough to drop deeper and wide to create space for others in the way Kane-esque big strikers do. And he doesn't seem to get in enough good positions to be a poacher. Nor does he seem powerful enough to ragdoll defenders and create gaps that way like Sutton and Hartson did.

He will continue to score goals because that comes with the territory playing up front for celtic in spfl games. But I've never seen anything in Idah really. Obviously Rodgers and many others see and understand players far more than I do, but I just don't get it.

The only reason to be optimistic is Kuhn showing how such a drastic turnaround is possible. So not giving up on him completely but he's absolutely miles off where a 9m striker should be in my opinion

Watch the Rugby Park performance to clinch last seasons league and you’ll see exactly what he’s capable of.

You don't survive at Celtic having a performance like that every 1 in 10 games. For every rugby park last season he had an Aberdeen cup semi performance too.

That's his one standout performance, said it at the end of last season that game aside he's done nothing to convince me, and still hasn't, he's not a massive upgrade on Oh who had a good goals to minutes ratio but looked equally clumsy on the ball at times. He's not worth half what we paid for him, absolutely rinsed by english market inflation.

Saying he's not worth half of what we paid him is massively OTT. He was worth £5 million based on his stint with us last season alone, not to mention he's still a young player.

He wasn't worth £9.5 million, but we knew that when he signed, I bet Rodgers did too.

He is coming to the point where we need to see a bit more from him, but I still think he's a cracking player when he's on it and he is, unfairly, being analysed under a microscope by a large portion of our fans, Engels is the same.

I'm not directing this at you, but I wish we'd cut off players a bit of slack at times. We wrote off Kuhn last season and look at where he's at now. If Idah is at the same crossroads come the end of the season then fair enough, but we should just be backing the boy in the meantime. I still believe he'll fully come good.

That’s a nonsense, he was excellent multiple times last season.

I don’t think we’d have won the league last season without him, Kyogo was massively off form and struggling to adapt to our different style of play. He came in freshened up our attack and scored some vital goals.

He’s not started this season great but there’s mitigating factors too, he didn’t really have a proper pre-season which immediately puts him on the back foot and then since he’s come here he’s not really started many games. Often coming on late when the game is done, or when he does start he’s then back out the team for the next 5 or 6 games.

He was brutal at rugby park, so needs to do much better when he does get his chance but most of the team struggled that day and it was just a battle.

Did we overpay for him at £9.5m? Perhaps. We do need to realise though that is just the market now, especially when shopping in England. However Rodgers was getting a player he wanted, and knew he could trust so no issues with that. We have the money and can now afford to speculate to accumulate rather than taking punts in the 3-4m bracket where you will undoubtedly unearth some gems, but also end up with some * that we’ll never get rid of.

No worries about him at this stage.
