It really does put a different gloss on last January's transfer window.

Juranovic. He's got 4 years left on his contract but deserves a bump in pay

We need to normalise not putting a transfer fee on our players heads. Guy is just in the door, showing some great form and fans slavering over what he might or might not be worth if he is sold. Embarrassing really and a small club attitude.

Should be signing two regardless: we’ve zero depth there.

We cannot sell him unless it’s for absolutely bonkers dosh.

We gave him a chance after being at some big clubs in his youth but looking like he wasn’t going anywhere. Hopefully he’ll remember that.

What’s his actual goals and assist this season? See a different number pretty everywhere? Assists I should say and know he has 10 goals.

Theres alot of slavering going on about "bumper fees" and 30m price rags from the media, who honestly seem desperate to get shot of him.

The fella has only recently recovered from his tough start to life here, we'd be utterly bonkers to sell him in January, unless there was indeed an offer of over 25m, which i cant see happening.

The stupidity down south for paying fees for pish has been proven, but I cant see either fulham or brentford breaking their transfer records for a player from Scotland, CL performances or not. Brentfords record signing was only made last year and barely scratched the 30m mark. Same for Foolham.

but if theres one thing we're good at, its maximizing profit.

We look a good shout for the CL knockouts, and Kuhns value and exposure will only increase.

Expected * bids of 10-15m should be * out the window, because thats EXACTLY what these tin pot outfits in the money bubble league are going to offer next window.

    They cant gtf.

Think it's more a case of not wanting to get ripped off. We'd all love to see our top players not leave for bigger leagues but that's just the way it goes.

The eagle eyed among us will have noticed that the rumours and speculation of Kuhn and a departure from Celtic really only started/ramped up after the semi final games and it was confirmed that Celtic will play a club in blue in mid December, followed by a must win game for them in the new year.

For those who've been through the Scottish domestic season merry-go-round agenda to help the Huns, will notice this really is just another in the long line of years and examples of the media desperate to sell out players and disrupt our run of form.

Kuhn becomes the match winning player, they have him sold and constantly ramp up the discussion to try and through him and others off their game with filling the heads with potential big wages and money moves.

My general view is we should be willing to sell any player for the right price, but only really in the summer. I think that's a reasonable position for both the player and the club.

I think we have a nice thing going where we have this track record of moving players on when they want to go, but also getting the fee that we're due. I hope we don't change how we operate. I don't want any players forced to stay if there's a good offer on the table that they want to take. It's important to keep the revolving door going and keep everyone happy.

I largely agree with this, we will still have something to play for in terms of CL progression in January, a league and Scottish cup to be winning. It should be clear it would take something like £40m before we would even consider a sale.

Kuhn is probably the most important player in our team just now given the drop off to the rest of the wingers after him, you have a drop to Maeda and then a big drop again to Forrest, Yang and Palma.

I actually think winger is the one position we should have a deal lined up for akin to Ange’s first season or Alastair Johnston that can come in right at the start of the month and play a part.

For sure. I'd make it clear to players when they sign that

    1. We're a winning club that competes for trophies and competes all season, so we don't sell in January. We're not mid-table also-rans.

    2. If you want to go in the summer you can go, but only if a fair offer comes in. The track record is on our side here, if you're good enough then clubs will pay the price. Don't agitate to leave and we won't make you stay.

Yeah I'm hoping we've changed our attitude a bit towards transfer windows. I think when Ange spoke about 'trading up' in the window it opened my eyes a bit. Transfer windows are a meta-sport within football.

I think we've been guilty in the past of acting like there are no players out there and we've been so scared of change we try to cling on to players for far too long. The reality is it's a vibrant and active market and you need to go out and play it rather than being conservative and scared of it.

I mean Jota wanted to go and we got a great offer. In the old days, that's a disaster and we don't get a player like that for a few seasons. 6 months later we signed Kuhn, who is of the same quality, arguably better and he cost even less. It's not luck, it's evidence of a market that we need to compete in. Arguably we could've had Kuhn even earlier but we moved quickly once he showed his quality at Vienna.

I'm not scared of losing any player anymore but it's on the understanding the club isn't going back to the dark days of being * scared of the market and spread betting on cheap 20 year olds from smaller clubs.

I still think we can go up a level or two but we need to invest in our strategy now while the going is good.
