    Standard stuff.

People think they are far too rebellious to shut their mouth for 60 seconds.

By all means express disapproval before and after it if you like, but not having the common decency to stand there for a minute is pathetic to me, but each to their own.

    Let's be honest here

The poppy isn't about respect it's used as a propaganda tool

That doesn't deserve respect in my eyes

I agree it's a propaganda tool. That's not why people stay quiet for a minute tthough. Different argument.

It's a debate done to death. Let's pick it up next year when we can learn more from some football fans on their views about early 20th century state declarations, and why that means they sing IRA songs to get attention during a minutes silence for dead people.

The poppy has no place in a football ground

    Keep politics away from football

    See you next year

So proud of those who stood up and sang out loud during the minutes silence. It is very important to take action against propaganda.

    This.
It's absolutely shameful that some people cannot respect for a whole minute others right to silently remember.
For that minute, it's not actually about you - so just shut the * up.

How many of you would go and talk directly to one of those veterans or families and tell them they didn't matter and they were part of some kind of propaganda and didn't deserve the respect of the people they served.
    No, didn't think so.

Delighted to see our manager show his respect.

I don't have a problem with boycotting poppy facsism, but there are better and less crass ways of protesting than disrupting a minute's silence, which for many is a genuine and sincere act of remembrance for those who did die in the first and second world wars. I agree that the whole event has been hijacked, but the banner alone would have been a far more effective way of getting the message across.

The booing and jeering just draws negative attention towards the support and the club. I also don't believe that many of these people are as politically engaged as they make themselves out to be.

The same carry on with the minute's silence for Valencia was embarrassing.

Asking a section of Celtic fans to honour a minutes silence for an army that disrupted the lives of so many close to them, is like asking the grieving family of a loved one to respect the death of their murderer.

This is different to any other football club, due to the fact we have a large Irish republican element in our support.

To ask a person to respect the people who killed or maimed their ancestors, is as arrogant a stance as I've ever witnessed.

Anyone who wants to stand in silence has the right to do so, but equally, anyone who does not has the right to sing in defiance.

I have family from Derry who died in WW1, so I would probably have stayed silent. However, these videos explain better than I could why others don't.

I don't agree with the poppy fascism etc but surely just stand outside until the silence is done instead of giving hun media and every * else ammunition to slate us.
These are the kinda things that allow there to still be an "old firm/just as bad as each other" narrative.

Let’s be honest, there’s a large section of the fanbase that have * all to do with Ireland, except the Celtic connection.

There are issues arising with the fanbase at the moment. We couldn’t even honour a * minutes silence about the floods in Valencia without some weirdos shouting about * Palestine.

Do people who have Irish connections have a right to protest a minutes silence for people who have been a part of the murder of some of their family members? Absolutely. But protest in a manner that allows the person standing next to you, who could have lost their family member in a war, to have there moment of reflection.

I didn’t stand and observe the minute silence this morning when I was shopping in Morrisons with my kids. But I allowed everyone else to reflect on their experiences of war and loss. That being said, I’m not deliberately trying to create controversy to show I’m an Uber ultra.

Beyond pathetic now. It was beyond embarrassing on Tuesday night and it was as bad today.

I pay to watch a game of football, yet I’m told to remain silent for a minute's silence. Why is that? I came to enjoy the match!

Football is my escape from reality—a chance to immerse myself in the game.

When will people recognize that this is all about glorifying the armed services? It seems like a way to justify sending them into conflicts that ultimately benefit someone else's interests, and no one dares to question it.

How outrageous! We're told they’re fighting for our freedom, but wait—why are they even there in the first place?

Where does the money from the poppy campaign actually go? To support the soldiers from recent conflicts. So why isn’t the government footing the bill instead? No one seems to want to question this; they just allow the poppy campaign to be promoted without hesitation.

It would show greater patriotism to refrain from wearing a poppy and ask these critical questions, rather than passively accepting the idea of sending their sons and daughters off to war under the guise of "protecting our freedom," especially when it's tied to the legacy of the world wars.

    Proud of my club always

That's the thing. With the divisiveness of the whole poppy situation, the public are having a go at each other instead of them.

    It did indeed.

He used it to reinforce the argument about decisions going against his team. Used those that are no longer with us to cover up his own failings.

Awful stuff. The guy should show some respect for those that passed in the two world wars.

But over in cloud cuckoo land he gets it. He knows Scottish fitbaw, he can do a lot with f#ck all.

It was a good day for McInness career today. Next hun manager.

Proud of my fellow fans and beyond bored of this time of year every year. Same pish every single time and all for a wee red flower that Huns have taken it upon themselves to make it a symbol of being a Hun. Embarrassing.

We are on the right side of history. The rest are not.
