Struggling with the concept of the phrase 'two way steet' I see. You'll get there in the end mate.

Nah you're confusing tf outta me here

You're gonna have to explain how demanding £30M for O'Riley is a hun transfer strategy when huns have never had a player as good as O'Riley on their books to be demanding that sort of money for?

I'll explain it with one of your own words mate. Just one.

    'Demanding'

It doesn't work like that. There are multiple factors involved....standard negotiation, the players wishes, budget management, the buying club's position.....if you 'demand' a figure upfront and have no intention of negotiating, you’ll end up like the huns eventually. I.e. losing your best players for * all.

Talk of £30m and £40m is premature. He needs a full season of exceptional form under his belt to command those kinds of figures.

We were in an extremely comfortable position with O'Riley, he had just signed an extension the season earlier which meant his deal ran until 2027, there was never any danger of losing him for free given the time he still had remaining on his contract

Having sold Tierney and Jota at around £25M each, a statement sale had to be next in line for one of our top players (of which O'Riley undoubtedly was), we had to find a way through negotiations to continue to break our record transfer sales, accepting £26M wasn't a statement sale in comparison to the sales of Jota and Tierney, we should have held out for at least £30M, they would have buckled and paid but even if they didn't, we would have still had a top player on our books for at least another 6 months who would have enhanced us even further in this seasons Champions League, let's not talk about budget management either when we were already cash rich without having to sell O'Riley to cover transfer fees over the Summer

We demanded a record fee for MOR. MOR had “reportedly” agreed to terms with Atalanta but we never negotiated with Atalanta because we knew the worth of our player. We got what we demanded in the end.

There’s nothing wrong with demanding a price, if you know that what you are selling is worth it. The problem with the huns strategy was their players were never worth what they were demanding.

Let’s just let the bhoy play football for the hoops, we’re becoming obsessed with selling players for profit. Big Pete’s rubbing his hands :56: only in the door 2 mins man

How many times has he dug us out of a hole this season?

Should’ve buried his first chance but that was an incredible goal at a time where we were on the ropes a bit. Brilliant player playing at the very top of his game just now.
