No chance in the foreseeable future.

Next year champions have one qualifier. As things stand just now champions would have 2 qualifiers I think the season after but it is precarious as Scotland, Greece, Denmark and Switzerland have hardly any points between them. Given the other leagues mainly have teams competing in the lesser competitions they are likely to pick up points.

Last night although we only got the one draw hardly any of the other teams picked up that much. Denmark got a draw, Greece got a draw, Switzerland one win.

So called elite clubs and their fans not liking the format … even though they all pushed for change what they didn’t realise was yeh they player more games with the big sides but also pot 4 teams get two games against teams in the same pot something that wouldn’t happen in the group stage same for pot 3 and pot 2 so makes more of an equal table

Think clubs get a bonus point if they make top 8 here’s hoping 3 of our clubs do so I genuinely think hearts can if they drop shankland copenhagen are under performing killie showed they give cercle Brugge a game and petrocub is an easy 3 points for them

The new format is far better, the old one was boring and had became very predictable !! A lot more meaningful games now, plus playing 8 different teams as opposed to 3.

I also think this new format could help us attract better players too as if in the group stage we have more games and we are also guaranteed games after Christmas.

They thought it would favour them and so far it has benefited teams like us where there is a bitnmore level playing field.

Ah well tough * on them.

It just suited bigger clubs as they win their opening 2 games and that's them basically through. This has been so much more open and entertaining for all clubs
Bigger clubs toiling, poorer clubs hitting top 24. Much better for the neutral and gives the smaller clubs a real feeling of progression

Finish 10'th in the CL table (ambitious but not impossible) and we're gonna climb up, thanks to the bonus points, despite loosing 8.5 from 20/21

Quite mad that we’ve played 4 games in the Champions League, lost one of them 7-1, but don’t have a negative goal difference :56:

Even if we finish 10th and get the bonus points and Rangers and Hearts match something similar to qualify from their competitions we would still be short of Turkey who have Galatasaray looking like being a top 8 team in the EL. Turkey are 8 full points ahead of us just now that’s 20 wins (bonus points can help but already includes our 6 guaranteed).

Norway are currently 1.95 points ahead of Scotland in 11th so that is 5 wins for Scottish clubs with no wins from a Norwegian club to overtake them. Bodo/Glimt look like qualifying for EL play off round.

From where Scotland is just now being able to secure 13th or 14th would be a good performance and securing 11th or 12th would take one or more of our teams having a deep run in the competition they are in, combined with Austria/ Norway going out.

You would probably be looking at us securing at least staying where we are just now with two wins (4 points from wins + bonus points for placing) then winning our play off to get to last 16. Whilst also needing Rangers to do similar in EL and Hearts to get a playoff game in ECL.

All while Bodo/Glimt don’t get past the playoffs and Molde don’t make it to them from Norway. Austria lose both CL teams and LASK from CL and ECL and Rapid are put out of ECL no later than last 16.

In addition, none of the Greek, Swiss or Danish teams do anything of note.

So whilst not easy getting 11th or 12th it is not impossible but 10th very nearly is.

Comfortably beat Stuttgart 0-2 away from midweek to bounce back from us drawing there.

Honestly if anycunt doubts just how major a clean sheet against them was, and how unexpected a result - look at them utterly dismantling Leverkusen last season in the Europa Final. The only game they lost all season, unbeaten in their league. That had two of the last four of the CL finalists.

And then at them being high scorers in a low scoring league. Rodgers hyperbole said one of the favourites in the competition, that still is him being overexcited exaggerating * that. But honestly, if I had to pick a dark horse for latter stages it’ll be them. Brest being the popular shout for that right now.

Most likely route to being automatic is for us to improve our co-efficient as a club to be highest ranked for countries not automatically qualified. CL winner gets a place, if they’re qualified through the league the best ranked from the not automatic qualified nations gets the spot if they win their league.

Funny enough, that’d be the Huns this season if they had to win the league :56:

The post says - "finish 10'th in the CL table"
There's no suggestion of getting above the 15'th in the coefficiency ranking.

I think we’re 13th in the rankings just now? If it’s the Scotland coefficient we’re talking here.

    * knows what our club one is, I think there’s an International one as well. It’s * complicated all coefficient *.

Which is exactly why this format wont last.

Uefa, under the guise of evolution, have royally * the rich sides.
Theres little protection as they had in the groups.

Scalps are being taken left right and centre in this format.

Only a matter of time before they start spitting the dummy and demanding that they be treated "better". Ie; give us all the "*" teams.

Leagues will start complaining too once their coefficients take a dip.

Of course all of this is contrary to the integrity of the game.

I honestly DREAM of the day that their "super duper rich boys club" league gets going. The EPL will collapse like a deck of cards, * wee teams who look down on us will be begging for us to join to prop them up, and any super league has a realistic shelf life of half a decade. Punters love nothing more that a success story, a david beats goliath, shock results which get global coverage.

After two seasons no one is gonna give a * in Man City got beat 2-1 by PSG.

It cant come quick enough imo

We started the season 17th but given we are guaranteed at least 6 bonus points for being in the CL league phase possibly more we would move up to 13th but it is very close between Scotland, Greece, Switzerland and Denmark.

This site does a live update of if Europe finished where each club and country would be https://www.football-coefficient.eu/

In terms of club we are terrible like high 50’s but a strong showing in the rest of CL could see us up to around 40th. They are high 20’s this season and projected to be low 30’s next.

To get the auto place if the CL winner is already qualified we would need some run or unusual winners from other leagues as the likes of Shakhtar, both Prague sides and Plzen, Bodo/Glimt, Red Star Belgrade and probably all others even Slovan Bratislava are above us just now in the club coefficient.

As much as it’s greet being straight in and you only get half points for qualifiers playing qualifiers means a lot of teams build up more points than us. Alternatively a run in the conference league or Europa Viktoria Plzen got 22.5 coefficient points last year more than Rangers got for getting to the Europa final from a run to the 1/4 finals of the conference because they won all their league phase games, probably had qualifiers to play too.

Aye the straight qualifying through being best of the others is what I want as the long term goal. It’s not possible short term.

Really its just try and be successful in Europe so it’s not any different from normal but that should be what the money men want, and its what the football guys want.

CL and the money it brings is so far removed from anything else we can access as prize money or TV money. Cementing ourselves there year in and year out is the only possible way we can break through our limitations of the league we’re in.
