Think we look far better when he is playing instead of Taylor.

I agree. He just seems more balanced and offers more options. Taylor plays inverted well. But Valle also seems to be able to that plus push up the wing , anticipate and intercept passes and looks to be overall defensively better. Think we enjoy this kid while we can as he has some potential.

It's not at all reliable, I wouldn't even understand the urgency to recall if they could - there is no depth crisis at FB

Just watched the game back without the emotion. He was absolutely awful when he came on last night. Gave the ball away continually however, hopefully the coaches point out how he can improve because he does have a good future.

I know this is tongue in cheek but if I was offered a choice between the two, Tierneys injury record really concerns me.

He's obviously the far more accomplished player right now. But I'm not as excited about the prospect of a KT return due to the fact he struggles to go a few months without an injury now.

Excellent. Hopefully we have him for the season at least.

If I'm being honest I'd say it's prolly about 50% tongue in cheek :) Just can't see past KT, I know about his injury woes but I'm a romanticist not a realist. I just feel it's something that is gonna happen...the auld spidey sense ye know. :50:

Reckon the boy has lots of potential, with BRs coaching, could develop into a player for us.
Well worth the 3M release clause punt.
KT has another year and a half on his 100K a week contract, so he is going nowhere, will just sit tight.
Cannot see Taylor getting much of a contract upgrade-and cannot see anyone offering him the money he thinks hes worth either. Would be happy to see him sign a new contract, with a modest wage increase.

I don't see us letting Taylor run his contract down tbh if he doesn't sign he will be punted in January could end up needing 2 left backs if valle is recalled!

Brendan Rodgers insists he hasn't heard anything over a potential early exit from Celtic for loan star Alex Valle - as the Parkhead boss admitted he is keen to tie Alistair Johnston down on a new deal after Record Sport exclusively revealed an extension is close.

Speculation over a January return to Barcelona emerged from Spain with the La Liga giants apparently looking to break the season-long loan agreement with the Scottish champions early. The full-back - who has stepped up and put in some big displays in the absence of Greg Taylor over the past couple of weeks - is viewed as a key player by his current club boss and not one he would want to lose

Rodgers is adamant the defender is really enjoying his time in Glasgow and picking up experiences of playing domestically in the Premiership and also on the big stage in the Champions League. The Celtic boss has suggested it could be put down to :rumours and gossip" kicking in with the winter window not too far into the distant future. Asked about the chat over an early break in his 12-month agreement, the Celtic boss told Sky Sports: "Not that I am aware of, no and nobody has told me any different

I suppose we are getting to the stage that rumours and gossip and everything kicks in leading into January. But I know Alex has really, really enjoyed his time here both on and off the pitch.

He's obviously a very important player for us so we wouldn't want to lose him. And I think the experiences he is getting here both in the Champions League and domestic football. I think he's really enjoying his time here

Think they were wanting to keep him around in the first place, pushed him in pre-season and he wanted a loan to play more rather than fill gaps at Barca.

And he probably regrets that now because he’d have had a shot at first choice there by now, Flicks got them playing some exceptional *, trusting the youngsters Xavi brought through. And if they would rather recall him, rather than going into the market it shows how much they rate him.

I think this is a bullshit rumour though. He’s not cemented his place here yet, thats not impressive enough to be the answer of Barcelona’s weak spot

I can’t see the sort of offer coming in for Taylor that would make that worth it for us if it leaves us needing two left backs. Valle staying, aye we might, but him being recalled can’t see a bid coming in that leaves us in the position to accept. It’d be less than a million or so.

Rumours of Barca being in for Alphonso Davies would suggest they're not lining up Valle as a potential backup LB in the foreseeable.

If they did sign him the chances of getting Valle permanently would go up significantly. They would be up against Real Madrid though who want Davies too.

Story I seen was that Flick would want to bring him in having previously worked with him. Would be great for us if he goes there in terms of getting Valle longer term.

Something must be going on behind the scenes for him not to be starting. Taylor was hard to watch yesterday

Aye surprised he's not featured as much lately.
Good run when Taylor was out, couple games he kept his spot as Taylor got match sharp.
    Now seems almost forgotten.

Pure speculation here, but wonder if it's trying to get Taylor to play more to encourage him to sign - show he has his place.
Or perhaps with the rumours previously that Valle may be called back in January, we've then decided not to overly rely on Valle.

Taylor contract situation doesn't help this
