Trusty was 100% a Rodgers target and signing so just a matter of time before he took the starting spot. I say it was like the Ralston/Juranovic situation in that Ralston was playing his best ever football but we all knew eventually Juranovic was going to be the man.

Scales will still get games tho as we play so many and injuries and suspensions happen. He will probably start on Sunday as away to Killie and won't risk CCV.

This is why we should never listen to English football fans on their clubs forums.. "not good enough for the championship" "Celtic and Scottish football is his level"

    * strolling the Champions league with slippers and cigar ya dafties:rofl:

Having 3 centre halves that can play at the same standard or level is a great thing to have..

That one pass he made last night into midfield where we lost the ball and they got a corner and then ended up scoring from the 2nd corner is the only time I remember him misplacing a pass in the 7/8 games he's played so far.

Being American and even playing for Sheffield Utd and mostly at left back for them I thought he'd have been a big athletic robotic player who was strong and mediocre or * on the ball.

But he's actually a tidy smart footballer and more of calm intelligent defender.

Think he just suits us like big Sutton and to a degree Ramon Vega. All 3 with big question marks over them in England and done great with us

In fairness to Big Sutton he had one bad season with Chelsea, the rest of the time he ripped it up down there

This will sound harsh af on Scales, who has stepped up brilliantly since coming back in to the side, but he looks on a different level if that performance is anything to go on.

That one time be did lose out in the 68th minute of that clip, his recovery is excellent. His passing is crisp, he's quick, strong and his reading of the game looked great as well.

His pace makes a big difference to the back line imo. I don't think Scales was that slow, but Trusty is absolutely rapid, quicker than Starfelt who I thought was quick.

Auston Trusty has warned Kilmarnock that Celtic can bring their Champions League intensity - even to Rugby Park’s plastic pitch.

The American centre-back is desperate to be fit and make his first visit to Ayrshire this afternoon. Trusty was a stand-out performer for Brendan Rodgers’ side on Tuesday night as they blitzed German cracks RB Leipzig 3-1 at Parkhead.

The contrast at Rugby Park will be stark but Trusty insists they won’t treat Derek McInnes’ side any differently to the Bundesliga outfit. And he’s adamant Rodgers’ men can adapt their free-flowing speed game to astroturf

Trusty said: “The gaffer and coaching staff don’t allow us to treat any game differently. We’ll prepare for a league match in the same way as a Champions League match - with the same intensity. At the end of the day, we’re a team who have to create our own environment. Some teams that we play (in Scotland) aren’t going to create the same environment of a Champions League night at top European level.

So we have to bring it ourselves. We train with the same mentality and go into each game the same way. I’ve never played there (Kilmarnock) but I’ve played on astroturf before and football is football. With different pitches, you have to adjust.

"Everything will be new to me on Sunday, it’ll be a new experience. But for us, it’s all about mentality as a Celtic player. And that leads from the top. The gaffer won’t let us slip from that, which is good.

He receives the ball very well and opens up his body to play a pass quickly, allowed us to beat RBs press the other night.

Tbf, Trusty looked very rusty, too stuffy and bit musty.
But hes looking very gutsy. Surely he's BR's first pick now, he must be.

His booking was a joke. Really glad to see that fall in the 9th minute vs Leipzig isn't anything to worry about.
