You've literally just described the weakest part of his game here so far in his Celtic career.

Thought he was well off it first half of the first half, criminal for the goal. Then he produces a moment of magic with that flick for our equalizer and after that, held his own.
Right now, he is going through that bedding in period, and with BR coaching, he will develop with every game, especially in Europe.

He's right. You're just focussing on a few mistakes, and missing all the good stuff he does.

Good bit of play in the build up to that Maeda chance too.

He does show some real quality on the ball at times.

Something about the guys demeanour that tells you he is a serious player. Impressed with his so far.

The thing Engels has over Bernardo is physicality, he is quicker and although not brilliant has a forward pass in him. Bernardo for me is more street wise and positionally savvy.

The thing I would like the see Bernardo do more when he plays is push himself, he too often plays within himself when I think he has more to his game than that.

At the end of the day delighted to have the two of them as with the volume of games they are interchangeable and there isn’t a drop off.

McCowan is also providing that with Hatate where he isn’t letting anyone down when he comes in. When Hatate hits the levels he has the last two games it’s no surprise he is way better but Hatate at his best could play for a big team in a top league, it’s his consistency that holds him back so far.

That was one of the two outside the boot chances I was on about last night that he was involved in. And the outside of the boot, sublime touch before setting Kyogo away..

Physicality is one of Bernardo's two best attributes (along with awareness) and I would say he has more of it than Engels (not that Engels is bad there). What Engels has over Bernardo IMO is better close control and better weight, accuracy and range of passing.

I honestly feel like I'm watching a different player to most folk when it comes to Bernardo.

When I say physicality I mean a combination for pace and strength. Bernardo uses his body well and his positional sense but he is certainly not quick.

He is also poor receiving the ball under pressure in our own half with his back to goal. Engels isn’t great at that either at times but I believe it is why Bernardo never looked comfortable when he filled in for McGregor.

He's bigger and stronger than Engels and he's not slow (even if Engels is quicker). I agree with the rest. Bernardo is not a great technician IMO. He is, however, a good player. It's his physicality and his awareness that make him that. Engels is another with good awareness btw.

Engels has amazing engine and great potential but is still very rough round edges, lacking composure and often poor first touch.
Hoping and expecting Brendan's coaching improves this boy, it's all there for him if he can.

I always think same about him, guess he would blossom if he were to get a run of games.
