He was excellent tonight, kept us in it 1st half, and deservedly MOTD.

 

Some massive saves last night and great distribution

 

He's slimmed down a bit but he's still got massive balls

 

A rare Celtic keeper in that he never gives me the fear when the ball gets played back to him and teams start to press him. Of course the occasional pass goes astray but i'm so confident with him dealing with it I don't even think twice when we play it back under pressure.

 

He's class..

His distribution is at a very high level. Better than some of the very best keepers about like your Courtois' and Oblak's..

Anyone got his wee outside of the foot pass to McGregor from Saturday when we were being pressed? You don't see many keepers trying that..

 

There seemed to be a bit doubt creeping in here about him over the last week or 2, albeit I don't think he made any obvious mistakes.

Hopefully last night puts those doubts at rest, an incredible performance not far off the likes Forster used to pull off.

When was the last time we had a keeper that just catches the ball as often as him? Feels like decades man

 

The best keeper we’ve had and I’ll confidently say that this early. Hes played at a consistent higher level than Forster and Fraser is younger than him. Boruc didn’t have either the career longevity or consistency although could produce magical moments. I loved hart but schmeichel just gives you a confidence in every department. Ball back to him in a tight space? No problem. Cross into the box? Catches it. Shot? Rarely rebounds. Then to add to that his passing is probably better than any of our centre halfs

 

He's better on the ball than most of the Hun outfield players

 

Made a great save in the first half. Granted, the shot didn't quite have the power to beat him but good reflexes to get down low to it.

 

Was a great early save from the Dundee set piece, just feel a far more solid outfit with him in goal and the defence will take extra confidence from that too which I think has been reflected in the performances overall, no disrespect to Hart but Schmeichael definitely gives our backline much more added confidence in my opinion, we've lacked a keeper of his class in Europe since Forster

What I found hilarious when watching the highlights against Motherwell back the other day is that when Lennon Miller's shots crashed off the post and bar, the big man had his arms spread wide apart for both efforts as if they were going miles wide or that he had them covered only for them to smack off the post and bar

 

Dont think he had a save to make yesterday??
Apart from that header that flashed by his post, a totally slippers evening from him.

Unsung hero of the night. Couple of vital, game changing saves. Exactly what we need at this level.

 

Two top drawer saves, especially the 2nd. That should answer any questions about his ability to still play at the top.

 

Yeah that save at his near post was excellent.

The best signing we made all summer by the way.

His first time passing is absolutely excellent and it can’t be overstated just how critical that was to our win tonight. Multiple times they pressed us well and he just doused the fire with a crisp pass through a gap and straight to feet.

Also came up with 2 massive saves. The one low to his left was an excellent save. Brilliant signing. Love the guy.
