Arne Engels is confident that another electric atmosphere at Celtic Park can help them pull off a result against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The Hoops host the Bundesliga side in the east end of Glasgow on Tuesday after picking up four points from their first three league stage games.

A 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava was followed up by a humbling 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, which remains their only loss this season, before a respectable 0-0 with Europa League winners Atalanta in Italy.

Celtic have only lost one of their last five Champions League games at home, and that came through gut-wrenching injury-time defeat to Lazio in a game they would have felt they had done enough to win.

They have won their last two in a row at Parkhead in the continent’s top competition, following victories over Feyenoord last season and Bratislava in September, and will be hoping to make it three in a row on Tuesday when they come up against the team sitting in second place in the Bundesliga.

Brendan Rodgers’ side was also on top form at the weekend as they blew Aberdeen away at Hampden to reach the final of the Premier Sports Cup with a 6-0 victory.

The Belgian midfielder, who joined for a club record fee in the summer, is excited to test himself again at the top table. He believes the passionate support inside the stadium will help them reach their limits.

He said: “We are expecting Leipzig to be a really good team and we are prepared for it.

“We did some technical things this morning, so everybody is really excited and ready for the game tomorrow night.

“I think they’re all really good players; otherwise, they wouldn’t play for Leipzig. But we also have a really good squad, and we are playing at home. So it’s a really exciting game for us and for the fans.

“I think we want to win every game, and that’s always our mindset, and we are playing at home, so of course we want to put in a good performance, and I think we will.

It’s going to be an amazing atmosphere that will help us a lot. And, like I said in previous interviews, it pushes us to our limits. So we are pretty confident.”

After Leipzig, Celtic will have two home games remaining, against Club Brugge and Young Boys, as well as trips to Dinamo Zagreb and Aston Villa as they look to make it to the next stage for the first time in 11 years.

He has that in his locker, loads of example in his YT videos.

His timing in the tackle working back the way is superb and he has excellent work rate, whilst being a classy technician. His long range passing is sensational as well, we’ve just not seen much of it yet.

He does have plenty of previous for doing some seriously great work with midfielders. Just look at how much better O'Riley got last season than where he was beforehand.

His shooting from distance has been a bit wayward so far but he shows great mentality so I can see him being a real threat from distance in time. Tomorrow would be a nice one for his first Celtic belter!

He can certainly whack a ball, it just needs a bit more finesse in its direction.
