See, I don't think he hides or is lazy, I just think he's a really slow football player.

If we played with a 10, I'd like to have seen him there, but he isn't quick enough to play on the wings.

He's the sort of player I could see leaving us and doing really well abroad, but I would be shocked if he makes it with us.

He did ok I thought, was involved, could have got a goal or set one up.

Was surprised he was took off before Yang, i'd have moved him to the right as he can at least put a ball in and is a goal threat when Yang was a passenger.

But he does need to find goals or set some up. Been ages since he made an impact so even ok perfromances aren't doing him good.

His goalscoring form at the beginning of last season is looking more and more like a purple patch. I think it's safe to say he can't be relied upon to perform consistently at an acceptable level. Another winger should be our priority in the January window.

    I'm wanting another two wingers.

However I would say and have always felt, he is quite creative. More so than Yang (although tonight he was a bit better).

Palma always seems to have a chance or create something whether he's on for 10 mins or 90. I have to give him that. It just doesn't come off consistently enough.

Long term don't think he has a future. We could and should be aiming for better, both him and Yang.

He's a weird one I still think there is something there but he's never going to be a first pick.

I think they are polar opposite players Palma and Yang.

Yang has a lot of dribbling ability, poor passer of the ball, not got a great shot, positionally poor and switched off his defensive responsibilities.

Palma has the ability to shoot and cross/ pass a ball. He can be wasteful but the reverse pass for Engels and ball with the outside of his boot for Yang were technically excellent. Despite popular belief he does work hard and doesn’t give up on his defensive responsibilities. His weakness is his lack of pace or dribbling ability.

I actually think Palma would have been better playing as one of the attacking 8s in games like last night where he would get the ball more centrally and in better shooting and passing positions.

Personally, I think Palma’s biggest problem is he seems to have zero confidence and a lack of resilience (funny as that was a word he posted on instagram) to play for a big club like Celtic. He came in done well at the outset as he got off to a flyer but once his form dipped he has never been able to get his level back up and it’s continued to decline. I think the best for all parties would be for him to move on in January, there was apparently a good level of interest in the summer so hopefully we can get a buyer, MLS, one of the big Greek clubs or someone like that.

He's not a winger, got no pace or trickery to play the position effectively enough, he's an attacking midfielder but tbh I don't think he's good enough regardless, best he moves on in January, along with Yang, wingers high up on the shopping list in January because after Maeda and Kuhn, Forrest is the only other you would trust to do a job but even his effectiveness has been on a noticeable downward trend this season as he continues to age at 33 now

Agreed I think he is a decent player. It's just the qualities he has don't fit the way we want to play. The ship has now sailed for me with Palma. Hopefully in January we can get in a winger in January like we did with Kuhn last January and we can find a buyer and just move on from Palma. Its best for him and us at this point I feel.

I don't know. I thought he did quite well for a player that hasn't had a lot of game time. Very unlucky not to have 2 assists and I would have been amazed if he hadn't lacked a bit of sharpness TBH.

Needs punting, there is a glimmer of hope for Yang but Palma needs punting in Jan, a position we need to strengthen
