BBC reported that he was out injured for today, but I missed what the problem is. Hopefully it was just a resting/day off because of recent family developments.

That said, shows the difference that he makes, especially in that first half as the team struggled to find fluency without him. Perhaps Hatate or McCowan being deployed in his role rather than Bernardo would've been the better option. Food for thought for BR in the future.

Felt a twinge during training yesterday. BR said they were taken no chances with him

Felt we managed fairly alright without him

Much like with Brown, we need to learn to play without him at times.

The first time we do it in a long time, you expect a bit of makeshift feel to it all.
Mccowan first real start, Bernardo and Engels being swapped all season as well. Made the trip dynamic different. But we got there.

I'd be happy to drop CalMac more often in these sort of games to allow the others to work together and develop a better midfield partnership.

McCowan definitely showing that he can cover him. At least domestically.

Callum [McGregor] felt a slight twinge after training yesterday," the Celtic manager told BBC Sportsound pre-match.

"There's no need to make the risk. We've got more important games coming up, so we want to make sure he's right going forward

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is hopeful Callum McGregor will be fit for Saturday's Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Aberdeen after his captain sat out the 3-0 win over Motherwell with a thigh strain.

McGregor was posted missing for the first time this season but the defending champions were able to return to the top of the William Hill Premiership table in his absence thanks to goals from Luke McCowan, Alistair Johnston and substitute Adam Idah.

It shouldn't be too serious," Rodgers said of McGregor's injury. "I got the call late last night, and with the number of games he's played over the years, I think it was really sensible as well. It was really mature, because maybe before he might not have mentioned it. He had a wee feeling after the training session yesterday. And then I got to find out, and we said let's see how he is in the morning

Rather than take any risk with it, we didn't want to put him on to maybe stretch it and then be out for a number of weeks. So, hopefully he'll be fine over these next few days, and if not Wednesday, then hopefully he should be fine for next weekend

Glad we won without Calmac as we need to rest him occasionally now he's 30+, his seasons playing 60+ games need to be a memory if we are to prolong his career

It's not like we don't have the midfield options to rest him at times domestically.

110% the correct decision by all for him to sit out yesterday.
