Aye, it funny how we can look at a game and see things differently..

The main thing was the whole midfield and attack turned over the ball far too much and quickly..

It was the defence and fat Kasper that kept us in it.. :56:

Thought Cal was out best midfielder, Trusty was MOTM and Kasper did really well too.

I’ve rewatched the game since watching it live, both times, but especially rewatching the McGregor opinion here I can’t wrap my head round at all. He’s covered more ground than any other player in the CL this year, and Wednesday was the most out our three games. He was calm on the ball, always moved to be an option for a pass, covered the cut back to clear so many times. He was tireless and just * amazing I thought, both viewings of the game, first one live emotional and loving him, 2nd viewing without the nerves though? Absolute appreciative that he’s dedicated his career to us, because he is the one guy I think is comfortably higher level and could go into any team and be good, not a weak link, keep up with them. Any other player we might think might be able to has caveats, Calmac belongs at the highest level. And * questioning performances like Wednesday from him, never mind saying sluggish, actually just confuses me.

Especially off boys like you, cos a know from talking to you over the years you’re not a guy I think is fulla *. That yin confuses me but man

Bernardo had one bit of possession, and composure, ability which probably is the bit that sticks out in everyones heads… that bit alone I just sat and thought he’s a player if we get the absolute most out of his talent and mindset, he could be * special.

Him at Dortmund is the only time I’ve seen his composure fail, but he still wanted the ball, pressed, tried, didn’t hide at all. Made ir all the more obvious how poor he was not hiding, but there was other players not wanting to be noticed and hiding. Even that being as the worst of what hes done for us, I still like that aspect of it.

I agree Bernardo will be a great player . If he plays more often he would be a 10 goal plus a season midfielder.

He’s one of they ones so far when he has one, he’ll score 3/4 games in a row, set up another 3/4. Have 8 goal contributions in 5. Then could miss a chance, and then go 5 not getting close to a goal or assist, and play within himself. I want him to back himself even when he’s not flying

Think it might just be its so different from how we usually play, and the focus was defensive rather than going forward. And that is something I didn’t expect that much, thought BR didn’t understand how to do it at all, i’m * overjoyed and ignored some * we shojld have done better attacking. There was a few moments that frustrated me that way.

That's what makes me believe Hatate had a good game. There were 4 or 5 points in the first half when pressure was at the highest he managed to gain possession in tight spots and reverse the play, actually moving us from defence to attack. Those attacks broke down pretty quickly, but they gave the defence a brief rest and a chance to organise whilst pushing the pressure from Atlanta back and making them wary of the counter.

I don’t think any of our midfielders were poor midweek. They all played a part. Engels looked totally knackered just prior to coming off. He has had a good start here. Not great, but he has shown he has enough about him to suggest he can be a success here. We’ve had a lot of big games in his short time. Once he gets his feet properly under the table, I think he will be class.

Not sure it was that absurd a statement to make, anyway.

Seen it before and agree in both ways, does see a good few passes cut out, however one thing that is unundeniable is he tried more than any other player in our team with attacking defence splitting passes, and that does skew his figures.

Complete Jekyll and Hyde performance the day. Some great turns and passes then some pathetic attempts at passes. Wish to * he could just cut out the stupid mistakes, frustrates the life out of me.

I think its time to move him on in the summer. Hopefully he have a farily decent late season so we could get as much as possible for him. He is just not reliable enough for me. We can do so much better. I don't think he will get back to the levels of his first season, so its best to move on because his value will just decrease gradually along the way he put on half-arsed performances.

He’s been pivotal this half in taking the ball in keeping it and also getting us up on the counter. Has to start when he’s on this form
