Thought he was fine. Linked the play fairly well and we had a few break aways in the first half. Considering that was the first time we have attempted to play like that it was well done. It was probably half a dozen times he managed to get infront of the CB and link it along to Hatate or Engles... if that was a bit more practiced then it might have come off better.

Don’t get why people think Kyogo contributed more than him, Idah ran himself into the ground last night.

I think the only problem I would have he becomes fairly ineffective around 60 mins or so because its clear hes shattered

Some shift and a great decision by Brendan. Kyogo won’t have even had a touch had he started probably. He’s was a good out ball and layer it off a few times.

Aye I thought he put in a decent shift, was a tough role as their defenders were really good, for me I actually thought their defenders were better than their attacking players.

I thought their attacking players weren't really any different to ours but they were able to flood them all forward cause their defenders were that capable and good.

That was what was most notable about them that the guys they had at the back were really poweful, athletic and quick. Plus the way they defended meant we had to outrun them in behind which we weren't capable of, even though Kuhn and Maeda are two of the fastest players in Scotland they are lightweight and never really going to outrun Djimsiti or Kolasinac over 20 yards, they'd just get brushed aside.

He played 4 or 5 good wee lay offs in the middle to give us a chance of breaking that we probably wouldn't have got from Kyogo who'd have been tossed aside.

The pace of their centre halves was an eye opener. Made maeda look slow a couple of times. Shows what Idah was up against and overall I think he did fine.

Put in a very good shift last night. Much like when he plays for Ireland away from home, he ran himself into the ground. Never really threatened but was a good target and outball at times. He offered more than Kyogo would have so for that it was worth starting him.

That Isak Hien looked unreal, was basically the only man back at times. Rapid, strong and composed.

Wasn’t the game for him. Ball was bouncing off him. It was like watching Adams for Scotland.

Not worried about the big yin though.

Having him as a target was invaluable, and worked for a while, then we got under serious pressure for 15 minutes or so till end of the first half with nobody getting in distance to play off him. And he drifted back defending. He was shattered by the time Kyogo came on, Kyogo’s movement offered something different and some more composure from him he would have been so effective.

Think that was the game plan, Idah as a target then bring on a completely different style of player to deal with. For 10 minutes after we did they couldn’t follow his movement. Then they adapted.

Both the strikers done well, both I would ask more from next time though.

Lovely goal from the big man, excellent movement to get away from his man. Brutal challenge on him hope it doesn't cause him issues as we're gonna need him fit.

Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on Adam Idah after the Celtic striker was on the receiving end of a rash challenge that saw Motherwell reduced to 10-men deep into second half stoppage time.

Rodgers' side triumphed comfortable 3-0 winners at Fir Park to leapfrog Aberdeen back at the Scottish Premiership summit on goal difference.

Luke McCowan, on his first Celtic start, netted an early opener, while further strikes from Alistair Johnston and substitute Idah secured the three points.

Motherwell's Liam Gordon was initially cautioned for lunging in recklessly on Idah before VAR intervened, and after going to the monitor, referee David Dickinson produced a red card to the defender.

"I think it felt a bit numb for him at first," Rodgers told Sky Sports. "It's not a great challenge but I don't think the player has tried to hurt him.

"The problem is when you leave the ground and it erupts his ankle. So, he was struggling a little bit after that.

"But I think once he got moving he was okay. We will just have to wait and see once he takes the boot off, but I'm sure there will be a wee bit of swelling there."

Got movement before his goal. His goal was great positioning and build up overall, great finish.

The sort of Idah we like to see.

    That challenge was shocking
