I didn't watch it but my mate was saying Valle was giving him pelters at one point?

I'd like to think he will be moved on in January.

    He's definitely skilled enough..

It's pace and other aspects of his game that let him down..

He grew on me yesterday. He obviously fights extremely hard to get back into the team, and that mentality is what i want every player to have, and i think most do except Hatate sometimes. Happy for him and hope he kick on now and get rewarded for the effort.

I just don't think he works hard enough for a Rodgers team. Agree with the poster who said his days are numbered.

He made a decent contribution at the start of last season and I'm just hoping he can find that form again if/when he features again.

Unfortunately he's just one of these foreign players who's not suited to the team/league/country.

He'll most likely be transferred to either North/South America at the very least in January if we can get a decent bid for him.

Brendan Rodgers insists the door is still open for Luis Palma to make an impact at Parkhead.

The wide man notched a hat trick for Celtic in their friendly win against Sligo Rovers on Wednesday to serve a reminder to his manager after struggling for game time in recent weeks. Palma has only made one start this season in the League Cup against Falkirk and been restricted to a handful of sub experiences.

The £3m Honduran international has been tipped to make an exit in January with several MLS clubs keeping close tabs. Rodgers remained tight-lipped on transfer talks but the Hoops boss insisted Palma is still part of his immediate plans

He said: “It's one of those ones where I think for all players, all players want to play. But I'm only really concentrating on this next period. We've got a really busy period until January. I know I'll need all the players.

We've just come off a game of a run there of seven games in 23 days and there's going to be times where we're playing every two or three days and we need that energy. Sometimes that won't be there like

Palma looked sharp over in Ireland and Rodgers admitted the winger has been unfortunate to miss out due to the form of wide men Nicholas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda. The manager said: “I was really pleased for him the other night. He took his goals really well, especially the last two, where he really got into the areas at the second point where we want him to get into.

Hes worked hard, but that’s not an area that there's any doubt with. You have to do the work, but that was a nice exercise for him. He wanted to stay in the international break to get the work in and obviously playing this game and it's been a nice reward for him

It's just about not forcing it. I think sometimes the thing with wingers is, when other players are in the team and scoring and creating goals, you feel you really want to come in and force it a little bit. I think sometimes that's what's happened with Louis.

“He's a very good technician and when he plays for the team and works hard and presses well then he can be a really good player.”

In any other team in the league he’d be destroying it. * even if it doesn’t work out here, I’m still delighted we bought him rather than the Huns who tried and couldn’t. He’d be by far their best player, and would be digging them out of holes week by week like he was us at a point last season.

But he’s a style of player that Rodgers really dislikes, he tries the awkward passes that might not come off but is a golden chance when does, he tries the long shot, he gambles on his position up the field rather than keeping the shape.

He’ll frustrate BR like you can see Hatate does, because it’s all about decisions about when to make the killer ball, he doesn’t like a pop at goal outside the box it being a low percentage option for a goal usually. He’s found the guys he trusts to loosen his micro-management on the pitch style we seen last season and the end of his last time here, which you can see the likes of Calmac having total trust that he’ll take the option and still play like Rodgers wants. Maeda is a * like player for a manager like Brendan, as are guys like Kyogo, Forrest… Kuhn is adapting and is on fire, much like Palma last season.

I don’t think Palma will adapt to what Rodgers is wanting, but he’s more than good enough to be a top player in Scotland. * I think him confident he is for us, but he’s not for Rodgers. I think him and Reo are very alike for Rodgers… but Hatate has a much higher level that BR will be desperate to get adapted to what he wants. It’s working slowly as well, * it clicked next to O’Riley but then it’s back to square one now there.

Didn’t see that interview, forcing it is exactly what I was trying to describe Rodgers hates. Palma’s style of play is pretty much trying to force a goal. Earned him the glory seeker selfish tag. He’s not anywhere near that for me, but if he thinks he can set up a chance or score he will absolutely try, immediately, regardless of how sleight an opportunity presented. 1/5 times or so that’ll work as well. Usually.

He’s always had a great work rate defensively. It’s just been in the forward area he’s been too slow and indecisive post injury.

Hopefully tonight gives him some confidence to get back to it.

Back from the dead, I half expected him to win us the game as he is the type of * who can cut in and score from any distance.

Couldn’t believe it when he was coming on, but fair play to him. He actually done well I thought. Couple of times he got us up the park which was absolutely crucial for us late in the game to give the defence a breather.

Fair play to him. Can't be easy coming in from the cold as he does and still put in that defensive work. That throw in he put pressure on the player to win was huge at the time.

He was the plan B for holding the ball up and in the air after idah went off. Kaspar was hitting him with it

Aye we had no height at all. Actually thought about it earlier, but in hindsight, CCV being out maybe even helped us in the end. Because after we took off Idah and Engels, we had almost no height at all, whilst they had plenty of it. Trusty wpisojt have started if CCV was fit, and he was the one that was winning all the aerial balls into our box.
