It's hard to measure in a Scottish context though because the whole of Scottish football is stuck in the 2000s. To be honest I'd still expect a 9m striker or a 6m defender to be miles ahead against teams that have a comparable budget to English league 2 or even conference.

Using Europe as a benchmark, we should be beating Bratislava at home and losing to Dortmund away and that's what happened. So impossible to tell after 2 games.

 

Losing to Dortmund is one thing, being totally humiliated whilst constantly making basic mistakes that would shame a Sunday league pub team is another.

Nah he’s not. Just able to keep it up more than anybody else. So ends up looking rapid

 

Compared to players in Scotland, he is rapid, but in the Champions league it is a different level.

Now that is a mental take when he was a key part of our game plan tonight of all nights.

Actually think he's more useful in games like that than against the domestic dross.

 

The stats say otherwise, mate. He's been well into the top 10 in the CL group stages.

 

Be interesting to see those stats tbh, Stand by it though the champions league is full of rapid players in every position.

 

Maeda is clearly fast ffs. In the CL there is alot more other fast players, some ecen faster than Daizen, but he's still fast.

I think I know what you mean: he just makes most other players look slow. It's a skill.
