Its quite depressing how much this Atalanta team is being put on a pedestal.

I know they won the Europa League but this isn’t a top team. We should be having a couple of chances, not just fighting for our lives.

 

Just keep hold of the ball, more time than they realise..so many times we’ve lost the ball with little pressure from them. Less panicking we have a chance

Their was part in the match where we kept the ball for good ten minutes think it was just after the 28 min mark after full on Atalanta swarm of attacking that’s what we need to do more of to calm the game down

We are so, so lucky to still be in this. Luck can't last forever though. I honestly don't think we have learned 1 thing about defending in the last 6-7 years. Just the absolute basics from every player pretty much is all over the place. Poor positioning, passive pressing, weak tackling, ball watching, lack of urgency. It's bizarre.

 

Bernardo and Kyogo on for me

 

We have no real outball, their defenders all look sharp and powerful so its unlikely we will get in behind them to score a goal.

Need to defend like * and get a bit of luck to hang on but I can't see it.

I think Maeda should help Valle more, he's exposed constantly at the back post with 2 and 3 men all the time.

They really could have had 2/3/4 goals.

Rodgers really needs to manage Engels better, he's going through a poor run of form yet he keeps starting him. Should really be giving Bernardo/McCowan some game time.

 

We need to hold on to the ball much better as we are encouraging Atalanta and eventually they will take their chance.

 

They drew with arsenal their are no bad teams at this level

I like this idea as Idah has been good defensively and I don't want to lose him because of that.

If we can stop them from scoring then in the last 20 play Kyogo up top with Idah in the 10 role.

 

Honestly, I think our expectations are pretty warped if we're happy/content with this. Atalanta are good, nothing special. We've rode our luck and barely created anything.

Just want to see a bit more from them. We should be carrying more of a threat imo and we shouldn't pretend like they didn't have three great chances.

 

I'd settle for another 45 minutes of the same

 

He’s been brilliant, shotstopping and distribution.

 

The final ball is horrendous. They are leaving miles of space in behind and they just can't get it right. Get kyogo on and leather it over the top
