Passing has been poor but I can see what we are trying to do when we counter.

Much better than usual anyway. If we can get our passing right we should be able to create more in the second half

 

Need more from Engels. He's not offering us a way out.

Hatate been decent but he's gonna gas very soon. Trusty having a good game but we are riding our luck a bit.

 

I'd get wee Luke on for Engels...

 

Put Engles sitting mid, that’s apparently his best. position. Or McCowan but that’s maybe a bit soon for him.

 

A bit like an SPL team against us. So we're doing well keeping it to 0-0.
People wanted pragmatic - this is what you get.
Idah has to make the ball stick better or bring Kyogo on and play the ball in behind quicker as they're playing a high line.
Engels not done much - would get more from Bernardo or McCowan.

 

Extremely fortunate not to be at least 3 down here. It's obviously an improvement on the Dortmund debacle but I don't feel comfortable in praising that performance.

Engels has been poor. Makes me miss O'Riley like * at the moment. I'd say Trusty and Hatate have been our best players.

Our passing is beyond * at this level. I think it's only a matter of time before Atlanta score unfortunately, then the flood gates will open.

 

The lads holding on well first half but Atalanta been quite relentless with the pressure at around 60 mins maybe slightly earlier I’d like us to bring on forrest, bernardo and kyogo. Forrest and bernardo to hold up the ball and get us up the pitch and kyogo to run in behind tired legs. Maybe Engels, maeda and idah to come off for them

I'd disagree, think he's been fine. Maeda looks off the pace and isn't helping Valle enough. It's the crosses from our right back area that are causing all the problems.

I am totally fine with that. Sensible and reasonably composed so far. The truth for a club like ours playing at this level, is that we are far more likely to potentially lose a game at this level early than we are to win it early. We are in this game as an overall contest by getting to the break at 0-0, compared to being 4 or 5 down.

 

For the size of the guy he really needs to learn to either hold up the ball for longer or at least try to win corners/throw ins up the park. He's brushed off too easy

 

Shape has been much better tonight, far less space for them to work with but our use of the ball has been really poor again, and if we’re being honest they’ve been so wasteful in from of goal otherwise this could be 3 and game over already.

Have to take the positives though, we’re playing an excellent side so will have to ride our luck.

Engels has been absolutely pish, and Idah has been completely bitched by their centre half (who looks an outstanding player btw).

There’s chances in this for us if we take a bit better care of the ball and show a bit of bravery to take it in tight areas cause they leave oceans of space at the back.

 

A few people have said he is best as a six.

 

Need to be more aggressive, commit some fouls in midfield before they get moving.
Get closer to their man before pressing, not passively standing off from 5 yards then jogging to close down.
I'm sick of how physically weak we are, every 50/50 we lose.
Get Kyogo on too.

On the positive, Kasper and Trusty doing well.
Shape better.

 

No, I don't get the criticism, he's doing fairly well.

Completely disagree, thought he was really good overall. Engels on the other hand…

 

If the 2nd half goes the same as the 1st then I'll need to phone an ambulance because I'm definitely gonna have a heart attack

 

I'd sub off Engels or Hatate and send in Kyogo. A 4-4-2 shape would make us more dangerous on the counter attack, while Kyogo's pressing would make up for the fact that we pulled out a MF.
