I think you could see he was heavy built through most of his time here but he was one of those guys back then that wouldn’t have been the same player without it.

Centre halves used to just bounce off him. Always loved the goal in the 9-0 Aberdeen game when he goes shoulder to shoulder with Zander Diamond and he drops him and finishes.

Always used to think Hooper was a bit "porky" until one game he wore short sleeves then I realised how much of a collosal hunk he actually was :BR1:

Hooper was a natural finisher but it seemed obvious he was just here until he could get a better job in england which is the reason we get a lot of players but it does grate

I can remember there being a big panic as to whether Ambrose would make the Juve match as he'd picked up an injury. We were talking about Ambrose like he was a Franco Baresi type defender and pinnacle to our defence.

Well, he did make the game...and he was awful lol

He had been at the AFCON. He only arrived back in Scotland on the afternoon of the game I’m sure. He made it into the team of the tournament for the AFCON as well if I remember correctly.

Sinisalo will be our first choice keeper by January.

Idah, Engels and Trusty not worth anything like what we paid for them. In fact, I wouldn't have signed Idah or Trusty.

McConnell and Bernardo by far the best signings of the window, but hey they can't be as good cos they only cost a fraction of those other guys and McConnell played for Dundee.

It's an attitude that needs to stop, imo

Feel like in the games where Schmeichel has actually been tested, not many tbf, he’s not looked entirely convincing.

Not coming for crosses, wee bit slow to react etc. Plus the fact he just looks like he’s not in the greatest shape. Bit overweight.

Think he’ll start to slow down and in the CL games where he’ll be really tested, I think we may see he’s not aa good as he was/we thought.

Was thinking this yesterday at the game. His preseason saves seem to be what a lot of people judged him on. Not replicated that when its been needed. Also, doesn't have the presence of Hart when it comes to leadership. Sorely missed that yesterday.

Not sure that will mean Sinisalo coming in Januaray but do think we need to start to get him involved.

Totally disagree with most of this. Idah already has 4 goals, same as Kyogo, and he's started less. He was a bawhair away from scoring the winner yesterday too. Engels has already shown he has a lot of quality. Trusty has looked ok in parts so far.

Don't think anyone thinks transfer fee dictates how good a signing can be.

FFS you must be strutting about like an anorexic Kate Moss if you think he's fat/overweight :56::56::56::56:

    For a footballer. Big difference.

He’s not fat. But as far as footballers go, he’s definitely not as lean as you’d expect.

Schmeichel definitely has leadership qualities, but definitely isn't the same type of character as Hart.. who surprised us all, was immaculate up here..

Schmeichel is a far better GK though, catches the ball really securely and his distribution is on a totally other level from Hart's..

Does look out of shape for me tho.

You guys do remember we literally installed a state of the art fitness performance centre at Lennoxtown not that long ago? Yous think big Kas is up there hanging about the kitchen whilst the bhoys are in the gym?

I highly doubt we are that shambolic of a club to allow an "out of shape" or "fat" guy to be our no.1 goalkeeper, regardless of his status/experience/qualities etc. He's 38. His body is bound to change shape, as everyone of a certain vintage will know, but there's zero evidence that he is out of shape, or overweight. None.

I genuinely get that everyone has an is entitled to their own opinions, but seriously some of the absolute guff to be read on here lately is mind boggling, with all due respect...
