    Fear.

I remember Brendan saying similar about Lee "Celtic had nae money" Congerton.

Known him a long time. Knows the modern game. Bring the best etc etc

In fact, Tisdales "statement" is almost word for word the same as Congertons; celtic stature, huge honor, great people already here doing great work blah blah blah.

Even if this chimp didnt come off as an absolute clown; nobody os revolutionising * while DD and his laptop are running things.

    Straw man appointment.

Mate, my apartment needs a lot of work. Bathroom handle door hanging off, sofa needs recovered, patio door doesnt lock, balcony has a leak from above the windows etc etc.

My landlord said she's sending someone round on friday to sort all of it.

If i hear a knock on the door on friday and open it, and see a Cocker spaniel sitting there wearing a tweed driver cap, im not gonna shrug and say "well at least she sent someone".

Im gonna ask her * shes playing at.

Well, like I say time will tell.. like any appointment.

Type of role where the work isn't immediately visible to us..

Nicholson and Rodgers both speaking highly of him.

It's more than a Head of Recruitment role but not quite a DoF has to be given a chance.

    I welcome the appointment.

    High chance it is.

I'm with JC on this, I've easily and happily laid in to the board plenty of times, got to give them a little bit of credit when they do make an appointment that on the face of it looks okay at least.

I'd obviously want someone with vastly better experience than exter as a CV highlight, but it's someone who at least (without digging in to it) hasn't previously been linked to the club.

Is interesting that he was seemingly here over the summer to review a restructure and turned out he was the best man for the job. I expect he's also fairly cheap in the grand scheme of things. So I won't go all out with the praise on the board just yet.
But give the weird hat * a chance and let's judge him after next summer window on how we do.

If it turns out Tisdale is the reason we chased after Engels and had Bougasz all but done as well - then there is positives there that he's gonna push for a higher level of player/spending.

    Time will tell.

That said - we'd all be howling if the Huns made an appointment of an exter ex manager wearing daft hats and outfits thinking he's a pimp of modern football.

Aye a sort of in between. Lawwell and his puppets keep control, while at least allowing (let's hope) some freedom and movement for the football departments to work more fluidly.

It's done so we've got to get behind it...:BR1:

but honestly, I have the fear about this guy being a total feckin Beale like imposter - praying he's an absolute genius instead.

Regardless of whether he is the right man for the role, it is the right role for the club.

    * hat. * scarf. And claims he is a "doctor" when he is no such thing.

    ...I'm very skeptical.

Cannae see this working out. Would be better with a European man who can spot the gems there. Maybe someone from Portugal?

Nicholson said he was helping the club spot players in the summer. Now he's been given an official role. If he played a part in recruiting Engels and Valle then he can't be that bad........surely.

Have no idea if it will be a good appointment so won't pretend otherwise, but wish him the best.

The important thing is to remember what Andy Dufresne did when his letter a week finally got a few books. From now on, you send Nicholson two emails a week.

I know what you're saying, mate; but the board aren't going to change our model. If this guy has a track record of successfully following our model, that's a good sign. Every Jota or MOR we sell for big money is a Jota or MOR who spent the previous season lighting it up for us. If he can make more of that happen, we'll all be happy.

I can see the same personality traits you can BTW and I totally get your concern; but at the end of the day, if we're valuing being a nice guy over knowledge and ability, then we might as well sack Rodgers and get Ronny or Mowbray back.

Overall, I feel hopeful about this.
