He hasn't looked great so far but I'll maintain its too early to judge.

What I will say is that I was very sceptical of this one before it went through. It strikes me as a bit of a panic signing if I'm honest. The signs before he signed weren't good and I feel like if he was linked in June rather than the last week of the window then a lot more fans wouldn't have been accepting. Because of how desperate we became for a CB it largely made me less annoyed at it.

But £6m for a 26 year old with his level of experience and off the back of a rank season...not so sure.

I'm not going to judge him solely on a night where he got no protection against class opposition. People forget that our CB's under MON got exposed one on one for pace away in Europe, but O'Neill set us up so that didn't happen often.

I liked his urgency and desire today but I'm not sure he's actually that good.
He has a lot of good attributes and might still be finding his feet.
Between getting settled in and playing beside CCV maybe he'll become a different animal.
(Not to say displacing Scales is a given btw)

He’s a left sided defender as well, he doesn’t look comfortable on that right side. He needs time but Scales is a far better player overall at the same age.

So far not convinced he's the answer to 3rd choice CB.

Wasn't sure if he struggled with the pitch today, as wasn't great, but going to see more like that through the winter period.

I thought he looked better today and so many forget he's playing out of position as a RCB. Every little thing he needs to do is that little bit more awkward than it should because of that.

    He'll be fine domestically..

If he gets a run at LCB beside CCV, we'll see the best of him..

I agree, but will he get that, though? I've criticised Scales at times; but he's been our best defender so far this season and, for me, he was our best player (not just defender) of any position against Dortmund.

Slowly warming to the guy, think he just needs game time to get his confidence up.

Not seeing him getting close to replacing Scales so far. Same was said about Nawrocki this time last year. Guess time will tell.

Not saying he is, just not seen anything from him that suggests yet he's close to displacing Scales.

With CCV likely to miss more games over the season think it's far more likely Trusty gets most of his game time standing in for CCV than replacing Scales :39:

    Aye, that's not ideal..

Trusty is definitely a BR signing with his hard on for everything EPL, so I reckon we'll see him instead of Scales at times.

Maybe the thinking is that everything will click when Trusty is partnered with Carter Vickers, two American fellas that know each other's game.

I don't know exactly how many times they've played together, but I can understand the argument that they will work really well as a unit.

I'm trying to be positive, because the alternative is that 6 million quid is a lot of dosh to pay for a back up CB. Especially a finished article CB.
