We should, 9/10 times, be comfortably taking teams like this apart. So when we don't, it's almost always because our players haven't performed. Like today.

And from that video it's literally impossible to tell if Butland is off his line. Other screenshots show his heel is on the line.

Regardless, it's not even close to Schmeichel. He was miles off his line for some reason.

You're being ridiculous saying that retake was shocking. Schmeichel was two yards off his line for * sake. It's a retake every single time a goalie is that far off his line.

Would you accept their keeper saving a penalty being that far off his line, and no retake being given? Not a * chance.

Is VAR allowed to stop play?

I might be wrong, but I’ve not seen var interrupt play. After the save we were breaking away with the ball. It took about 30 seconds and var instructed the ref to stop play to order a retake.

It really didn’t take them long to get that instruction to the ref.

Again, I apologise if this is standard practice, but I can’t recall seeing that happen before.

 

Hibs player was in box also don't know if that changes anything

 

The retake should have been taken IF last weeks mistake was retaken also....But as usual these officials * it up every week for us and they get away with it.

And BTW....Propper being in the box does matter....if the ball was pushed to the keepers left and Propper had an advantage to get to it before any Hibs player.
