We absolutely have to change how we play in ties against clubs from big leagues with money and wages that dwarfe what we pay but it's also the week in week out competition they play against which is light years what we play against week to week.

In short we have to be more compact, playing Falkirk and stjohnstone and.setting up the same away to Dortmund is just * crazy

As I've said. In the hun thread, Lyon, just like Dortmund. Have some big physical players in their team and that's what we need to compete in Europe. We are a team of midgets compared to European teams and the sport has moved on from a time when small skillfull players like Jinky, Buzz Bomb and Berti ran games for us

Diawara at Lyon who we were linked with came on and he's an absolute unit.

Need to get back in for him.

Take Dortmund result into context as far as CL table is concerned.
    We are 20th in table
    Bayern Munich in 15th
    Barcelona in 16th
    Real Madrid in 17th
    LOSC in 18th
    PSG in 19th

Having watched Stuttgart hamner dortmund 5-1 and it could have been 10 .thought we might surprise dortmund but after about 10 mins in feared the worst .will be same outcome v atalanta if we approach like that ..we struggle to play against teams that can pass the b aw in our half.as teams in spl just sit back and hope for the best.

    Dortmund 2-0 down to Union.

As I said, not a good Dortmund side. Certainly not by their standards.

They are very good up front and if you give Brandt all the time & space he wants but their defence is weak. Our suicidal playing out from the back just made it easy for them.

    100%

Definitely our approach and preparation helped them on their way against us.

They also seem to be turning it on the Champions League and not domestically.

Up their game in Europe. Said it before the match that form meant * all.

Just * me off our own lack of self belief and total absent midfield

I think it was a case of us allowing them all the space and time in the world to do what they want. When you give their best played 15 yards of space that's not a great start.

We didn't even get near them it was like a training game.

Horrific performance honestly. That's two poor performances for them either weekend in between a skudding of us. They ain't world class.

Fair point that table, but unlike the others we need to show we can shift up a gear when needed. Sadly recent years show we can’t, let’s hope this is the year when we start.

Dortmund beaten by the mighty Union Berlin with virtually the same 11 as battered us the other night. Shows what can happen when you approach a tough opponent sensibly.

We're getting nothing away from home, only home games are our chance of getting through.

Even at that you think anyone will fear coming to parkhead as Rodgers said he won't change his approach. So that gives everyone a chance to do their homework on us.

The table means zilch right now.

We've played 2 games, the first being against a team who've spent most of their recent European history either not qualified or in the conference league.

First time we face an actual champions league side we get shagged. All the teams you mention there minus perhaps Lille will all push on as the fixtures progress. Whether we do or not is up in the air.

Not any points I disagree with aye, the format suits us.

But still, we need to learn from tuat result. I still maintain that dortmund are not as good as being painted out to be. They're not even in the top 5 in the Bundesliga yet this season still and RB Leipzig are sitting level with Bayern, a team we also still have to play.

For me, we were our own worst enemy and Rodgers has to learn from it. He simply has to change his approach against these teams.

If you give Julian Brandt 15 yards of space ofcourse he's going to look amazing! If Engels had that or Bernardo or anyone they'd also have a chance of doing something.

It all comes back to our approach. Most of the goals conceded were avoidable quite easily. For me.
