Frustrating because it’s hardly rocket science, or even something new.

I actually despise the fact it’s conflated with ‘parking the bus’ or seen is giving up on your philosophy.

26 games in the CL he’s managed.

    4 wins
    6 draws
    16 losses

He had 1 win, 2 draws and 3 losses as manager of Liverpool, with Luis Suarez up front. A very good Liverpool team available.

    With us it’s:

    3 wins
    1 draw
    13 losses

He’s an elite manager in some aspects, but at this level? His ego and belief in his own idealistic style of football * him. And it did even in a far better team than he has ever had at Celtic.

0.69 points per game for both Liverpool and us is the record. I keep calling him naive, but he’s experienced that level enough and is a great enough canny manager enough for that description to be generous, it’s not naivety from him, it’s sheer * arrogance.

@King of Kings pointed it out last comment, conflating ‘parking the bus’ and his comments on that absolutely * riles me. He done similar after the last 7-1 under him, where he said well I played 5 at the back like peoples being saying I should change to defensive- and watch that game, we might have had 5 at the back but we weren’t defending or defensive.

He’ll never realise that there’s a way to defend, be stingy, crowd the right areas of the pitch, sit off and defend the right areas to not leave gaps but still be attacking and go for the throat - and you only need to have watched Villa vs Bayern tonight to look at how to do that.

Because Unai Emery is a better manager. If I’m being generous to BR as well, they also play in a league where they come up against teams they need to do that style against often. And they are * good at it.

But right now, thats too much a generosity I think. Because that set up and style isn’t even a thought in his head- never mind something as bold as subbing Leon Bailley back off, after him being the sub on first half due to injury because it wasn’t working for the team. And Bailey wasn’t playing awful, it just didn’t suit the team with what he wanted. And it * worked.

We grew up watching us give * noses to teams who were vastly better than us, with squads that I’d argue are worse than what we have had available since then. And there’s a reason for that, largely since then, we’ve tried to dominate teams like we do against domestic teams when it just won’t * happen.

He's a better manager but that isn't the crux of it as lesser managers than Rodgers can recognise when the need to attack and when the need to defend is.

Rodgers has the flexibility and has spoken about it since pre season. Even the opening to the Hun game we set up differently to allow them onto us to begin with and counter. So he knows.

That's why I'm so surprised with how he set us out.

Is it surprising given what we have seen from him though?

The fact that he said after the game that he wouldnt have changed anything is really concerning for me. There is a guy who just isnt willing to learn.

Adeyemi is the fastest forward in the whole competition with Gittens not far behind. We would never play a ridiculously high line against Mbappe so not sure why we did it against an even quicker player.

He's a level above what we can usually attract to us but he is not elite and that term really bugs me when people trot it out. He's a very good coach but nowhere near elite - and that term is reserved for a handful of people on the planet at most.

The reality is if he was an 'elite' manager he wouldn't be here for his second spell.

Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, has been announced as the Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month following an undefeated run throughout September.

Celtic picked up a full nine points during the month after securing a string of victories, including a 3-0 triumph over Rangers in the latest derby fixture, a 6-0 away win over St Johnstone, and a 2-0 victory over Hearts.

The Irishman’s side remain at the top of the league table for the second month this season on goal difference to second-placed Aberdeen.

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said: "Celtic has finished the second month of the season with an unwavering nine-point result that has secured the club a place at the top of the Premiership table.

“Brendan Rodgers has continued to demonstrate diligent leadership over his team during the opening months of the 2024/25 season. My congratulations go to Brendan, and everyone involved at Celtic Park, and we look forward to watching the club as they navigate the remainder of the season ahead.”

Brendan Rodgers, said: “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of the team and my backroom staff.

“We have enjoyed a great start to the season with the team showing great balance and delivering excellent performances and results.

“Defensively we have been fantastic in the League, with this solid base giving our midfield and forward areas the opportunity to produce some excellent football with real creativity.

“We go into our final match of this league section in good form and we will be looking to bring another great performance on Sunday against Ross County.”

    Delusional with his ego frankly.

"Go down with my own vision", that doesn't work and has never done in Europe ,whatever the club.

There's a big difference between sitting back with 15% possession and being outnumbered in our own half 10+ times because 7/8 players are ahead of the ball. No other side plays like how we did on Tuesday.

It's not even like we were playing great football going forward and creating chances. We had no spells of any attacking pressure. The lack of a glove laid on them was embarrassing.

We would have probably created more chances sitting in and counter attacking. Delusional comments from Rodgers.

    Fair * to him.

Imagine getting an absolute tanking at work and then coming back for more of the same.
