Celtic to Extend Adidas Deal

Just had a look there and it's still £40 in the Celtic shop. Madness.

£56 on the adidas website as well.

 

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I know it costs Celtic retail a fortune to buy the jerseys in.

It might be that they get some of that back if there's stock remaining etc. but they're quite possibly making a loss selling it at £40.

 

Although associated with a terrible season in our history, the ‘20-‘21 kit slightly pips this year’s one, imo.

I really like this year’s top - especially the celtic (‘keltic’) detailing around the collar, even the font of the shirt numbers. Feels v ‘us’, and I think it’s the best use of that dark green, which otherwise shouldn’t be in the kit, imo. Makes the Adidas badge look weird and out of place in that shade of green.

I actually don’t really mind the dark green ‘tiro’ stripe in the top, though I’d have preferred it to be gold, because it extends to the shorts, and the dark green in the shorts makes it look like part of a Hibs kit. That’s where the ‘20-‘21 is far better, for me. Doesn’t compromise our usual colours as much, and has those bits of gold trim that just make it look prestige.

With both kits, I like that the Adidas 3-stripe is green and not grey or black. I really like the look of the shoulders in this year’s one, with the extra white; but then the counter argument is that it breaks the Hoops a bit, whereas ‘20-‘21 continues right to the top, at the sleeves.

They’re both easily better than the ‘22-‘23 diamond pattern one, and the ‘21-‘22 one with the needless thin outline around each hoop. That’s not even mentioning last year’s bizarre, Sporting Lisbon-meets-reptile-print top…

 

Another team that Footy Headlines can confirm will become an Adidas elite club from the 25-26 season is Celtic.

Along with AS Roma and Newcastle United, Celtic will also become an Adidas elite team from the 25-26 season. This means Celtic will receive authentic kits (Heat.Dry technology) and the Trefoil logo on their third shirt.

Like AS Roma, Celtic's current tier is B Premium. Celtic will be promoted by Adidas to the A tier, making them an elite club from the 25-26 season

From what we know so far, Adidas will be adding four more teams (Liverpool, AS Roma, Newcastle United and Celtic) to their elite team catalogue, bringing the total number of elite teams to nine for the 25-26 season

 

So the 'elite' teams get a retro Adidas logo on their third kit?

Some bonus.

 

I think they do it in larger sizes too.

I must admit I am actually the exact same with last years home top. I hated it. But then I bought it at the end of last season on sale and while its still a crappy design on the hoops its actually a decent fit and feel.

 

Good news this as it means we get more visibility worldwide in Adidas stores which can only be good for the club. I wonder financially is the deal better than the last one as well. I am guessing it probably is at least a bit.

They seem to put more effort into the elite teams kits and training wear also.

 

I hope we get a proper Celtic Beckenbauer trackie for being an elite team. Something like the Mexico one would be class

 

It's a bit more than that, but aye on the face of it for fans.

Our shirts will be available for purchase in pretty much all Adidas shops the world over (as opposed to just a few markets currently), meaning our income (and obviously Adidas) should increase.

We will be able to purchase (I'm never sure if all players already get this regardless of level), the player spec version of the shirt - of course this is the ones we see being sold for £125 currently, so yeah * that.

We get the full complement of training and leisure wear gear.
Although we currently are quite close to getting a lot of it, it means we will be involved a lot more now.

The third kit this year for elite clubs got that proper retro vibe with the trefoil logo that the players actually wear (compared to the release the other day of the leisure wear thing). We would be involved in that as well (or whatever version of a collection they do next season. For anyone who was aware, Nike done it a few years ago as well with a retro kit look for Barca, Chelsea, Roma etc).

After all of that, not sure fans would genuinely notice anything else to the elite deal, if there is anything else.

But in simple/short terms, it's more money for both Adidas and Celtic, better gear.
