He should be embarrassed by his performance.

 

I think they all are.

 

A steep learning curve for him and went into hiding. Must learn from that.

 

He wasn't alone when most players aren't capable of doing their job then one guy in the team has no chance

 

Just think picking individual players out is not fair when the whole team was * on the night and not helped by the manager's tactics thinking he was playing st.johnstone again .

 

Hard not to pick out individual players when we're speaking about individual players in their own individual designated thread...

 

According to the captain the team didn’t carry out the managers tactics though, and accepted the responsibility the players have in what happened, specifically as the players on the pitch playing as individuals and focusing on themselves individually not as a team.

I’ll argue the intended tactics and set up hung the players out there to dry and lack of action in the dug out when it was obviously not working lead to that happening but the fact it did, yes individual performances can be focused on. And there’s a few I’m raging about individually - Engels and Kuhn leading that line.

I can accept a * game, like Taylor and Bernardo. Hiding I can’t though, Kuhn and Engels were that. Engels turning his back and walking away so he couldn’t receive a throw in is one of the worst things I’ve seen for us at that level. He needs to learn quickly from that, the guy is quality, but he’s young still. That’s the only pass I give for that sorta stuff. He’s been different class every other showing for us, when everything is going good. It’s when the chips are down and it’s a struggle you see the character they possess. He’s replaced a guy who had that in spades. He’s the record signing, he’s played in that stadium and atmosphere, and he shrivelled. Criticism is deserved, as long as it doesn’t go too far.

 

We paid a record £11 million for him on the back of his performances in the Bundesliga, like the whole team he had a very bad day at the office

 

Unfortunately for him his expectations being our record signing AND coming in with experience of playing Bundesliga football means for me he cops the worst flak of anyone, especially after such a * diabolical showing. In Germany.

 

Really poor the last two games. Need more from a player with such a big price tag.

 

He's young and there is more to just moving country etc to take into consideration. Still very early days, but you can see he is a bit overawed by the expectations here I think.

 

The Dortmund game clearly got to him, wasn't great today.

Despite his price tag he's still a young player who is steadily improving.

 

For now I think McGowan and Bernardo deserve to start before him and Hatate

 

Terrible. Was surprised he even got on for the second half..

It seemed obvious he was knackered and no on it..

 

He was awful today, hopefully midweek isn't gonna have a prolonged effect.

 

Young so will blow hot and cold. That's why we have a squad of players.

 

He still has a lot to learn, clearly his confidence has take a hit but I’ve no doubt he’ll comeback better again after the break.

 

To be fair to him it's probably his first real introduction to Scottish football. Tight pitch with hammer throwers defending with 11 men, trying to kick you every time you get the ball. He'll learn and will be fine imo.
