    This.

Points wise last night was not unexpected and we are still in it definitely.

The scoreline is a hard one to take but let's get it behind us.

    Hail hail.

Good teams come to park head and * themselves. We basically just had the same medicine. Big yellow wall that gave our team big yellow stains in their breeks. It happens, we move on. Atleast the next team will be good, but won't have that kind of atmosphere. We'll learn and move on.

If we'd got the likes of Trusty and Valle in earlier in the window maybe we would have done a bit better last night.

If we attempt to press Atalanta the same way we will be tanked again. Simple as that.

Afraid to say it has all the hallmarks of another potential spanking. Team with a great European record of late who press well and play at home in a very intimidating atmosphere.

History suggests our players will crumble.

I didn't agree with what he said tbh.

Impression he gave off was that fans shouldn't be * off after that. Who has said that BVB are our competition? I don't see anyone anywhere across our fambase moaning that we didn't go over there and win.

Any criticism is unanimously aimed at the tactics, naivety and overall performance. It was as bad as I've seen. Not to mention the fact it showed most worryingly for me, that Rodgers appears to have learned very little from even 8 years ago.

I really hate this attitude from some of our fans. Aye we won't ever be back competing with them in the latter stages of competitions. Does that mean we should lose 7-1? Naw.

I feel like people are clinging to that excuse as a comfort blanket tbh. "They have more money, better players therefore its inevitable we get skelped".

We have a history of losing games in Europe in a really embarrassing and disgraceful manner. I can accept losing but cmon. Not like that.

Talk of the europa as well. You can't play down the fact the Huns got a result against them just because it was the europa. That's just being a bit green tinted. Recent history has shown that overall we struggle at that level too...* we got pumped in our one and only conference league tie! The reality is we haven't shown much at all in the past 10 years or so to suggest we can compete regularly at both UCL and Europa level imo. Barring one or two rogue seasons.

I dont agree with the last bit at all my friend. Big Hitters vonstantly lose in EL. They really dont care about the competition henne why more often "smaller" teams win that tournament.

Just look at the contrast between rangers results in CL campared to EL. Finalists to eorst in the history.

Its night and day these two tournaments but it will soon become better as the gulf is widening.

Aye, Dortmund at home in the Champions League with a full house, is a totally different animal from Dortmund in the Europa with 10k fans..

In saying that its still a result we wouldn't have achieved.

    Fair enough.

If you isolate their results there to the eurppa they have still achieved consistency we could only dream of at present. It doesn't make them world class or better than us as clearly that isn't the case.

But it highlights a serious issue. If we use them as a barometer for how good we are domestically then we should be questioning why with a supposed better side we can't achieve similar in europe. Particularly with a manager on 70k a week.

The point about them regardless was only one point out of my last post. I think what he was getting at on that podcast is wrong. But that's just my opinion. We use the same excuses everytime.

Them having better players doesn't excuse ours not being able to pick up their man in the middle of the pitch or pass a ball 10 yards accurately.

I genuinely think that we could be as good as them in EL. With luck of draws which they have had.

Look how tottenham and United will perform against them. Will go at 30%

Evidence would suggest otherwise I'd say. But regardless I don't want this to turn into a blowing smoke up their * conversation.

Our sway form in Europe will put pay to chances of progression at any level of competition. That's been the case for about 20 years, for the most part.

Dreading atalanta, pessimistic as it may be, happy to set up to take a narrow defeat, goal difference could well be at play come the end.
