Probably had about 3 touches. It was obvious after the first 10 minutes that this wasn't the game for him. We were getting no joy whatsoever. The lack of service or even basic ball possession was alarming.

These are the games Idah needs to play for his physicality.

Idah would have done the exact same amount as Kyogo with the service provided - absolutely * aw.

I've seen enough Irish games to tell you that just having Idah provide a physical presence up front means * all if you don't get him service. This game would have played out no different regardless of who started up front, far too many players went missing and far too naive tactically today leading to us almost never getting near their box until Dortmund had decided in the second half to take their foot off the gas.

Didn't even have a chance to miss.

I genuinely thought we would have had a good few chances tonight, but absolutely * all.

We'd have been better with him roaming about midfield lol

Stayed high up the park and tried to press, I honestly don't think he did touch the ball once in the first 30 odd minutes even into the 2nd half he had a couple of touches in our own box, I mind he headed a corner out then a couple of touches near the corner flag battling for the ball.

Probably had most of his touches of the ball within 5 yards of our own goal line. :56:

Don't think Idah would have made a massive difference given the fact we probably still wouldn't have went long.

However when we have our backs against the wall Kyogo would be as well not being up there at times.

At least with Idah if we did want to lump it we'd have a slight chance of holding it up and giving some relief. But if there's no service the wee guy ain't gonna do much regardless.

    Tough one.

He often doesn’t have many touches and tonight he was never going to but I thought his pressing was horrendous first half. Either little effort, too late to it or showed them an easy way out.

Dortmund read our press by the front lot very easily. Could see from the get go their patterns of play were just to lure us in enough to create that space in midfield then instantly knock it out wide for adeyemi to run onto. As they knew Grey Taylor would be positioned deep inside, happened at least 6 times. Then also after Adeyemi went off but their sub fluffed the chances.

Should have set up similar to Arsenal tonight with an extra midfielder playing Havertz role. Would have seemed a very defensive line up with no ‘striker’ on but would have helped that midfield battle much more

Warm up son you're coming off

I thought last night would've suited him down to the ground but we never got the ball anywhere near him

I was happy for him to start, thought his movement would create a bit of space but they were too streetwise.
In hindsight, Idah would have given us an out ball when we were under pressure.

We wouldn’t have used him as that anyway so I don’t think it made which odds who started tbh. Idah probably the fortunate one to be left out as Kyogo will take the majority of the flak but when we set up the way we did and the midfield and defence lose the ball every time they have it he’s on a hiding to nothing.

Will not here a bad word against him.

Dortmund utterly bossed us last night and had full control of the game, was like watching myself play FC24 on semi pro when I just want to go brain dead and mindlessly skelp a team.

It left Kyogo completely and unequivocally isolated and alone and any time he could get even the faintest of baw hairs of touches, that Dortmund lot were all over it.

There is a clear difference in all manner of abilities between their players and ours.

I mean, ffs, what would we give to have a squad so strong that on the bench we'd have a mixture of talents in the likes of Duranville, Nmecha and Sabitzer.

Let alone wingers to the levels of Adeyemi and Gittens.

We could have had Engels fully settled for a season, prime MOR and fully firing CCV in that team last night and I don't think anything changes.

Their fitness, their sharpness, their technical ability, their speed of thought, their power were all levels above

His entire game relies on service and he received none. Doesn’t have the physicality to match up against a defence like Dortmund’s.

Just like the defence if you get no support from your midfield.. you're always going to struggle.

What did he do with his top, when subbed? Anyone know, was it an uncharacteristic display of frustration?
