Well we just witnessed the first horror of spooky season then.

I do hear what folk are saying but get the notion of playing "anti-football" so far to *.

 

Humbling, depressing and embarrassing in equal measure. Rodgers needs to start being more pragmatic starting with Atalanta.

Attack the pot 3/4 teams by all means but don't be playing a pot 1/2 team at their own game it's footballing suicide.

Lots of basic errors that always appear especially in away European nights we never learn

 

How much learning we do we need to do?

We learned that Rodgers was too naive with his tactics 8 years ago. We learned that Greg Taylor was a good domestic option but we out of his depth at this level a long time ago. We learned that we're sorely lacking a defensive midfielder at this level a decade ago and have never bought one. We learned that McGregor shouldn't play that position, but we persist with it every year.

We have the foundations of a good team but we really are a shambles sometimes at this level and it starts from the manager down.

Engels is the only one I think who could improve and compete at that level. Maybe Kuhn. It's as much about who you have around you. I like Calmac but he isn't good enough at that level.

 

Not seen any of them back but was every goal off the back of a mistake by us.

 

Although the defeat is impressive, the consequences for the standings are less so. Celtic are currently 19th/36th and have a goal difference of just -2. Fortunately, we won't be facing Borussia in every game.

 

Knew the defence would struggle but shocked how much our midfield were out of touch.

He's the only manager to concede 7 goals in more than 1 CL game. Happened 3 times here under him. He won't learn.

 

We've had a great start to the season so I'm not going to slaughter anyone. Hopefully this is the worst result of the season and we kick on.

Not that arsed really. Always knew we'd get a tanking from some teams....EL is our true level..but we still have some winnable games so..onwards!
