Did he win a tackle or any kinda duel?

 

I think it's a bit rich to pin this at the feet of one player. The whole team is obviously out of their depth at this level.

 

He's never been good enough for Europe. Don't think anyone with half a brain was surprised at his performance there.

 

It’s not just his fault but he’s been shown up again.

He was literally passing the ball to them in our defensive third under little pressure.

 

He’s certainly not the only one but looked like a small child playing against men tonight. Our full team have been positionally shocking though so he has often went inside with the winger, Maeda has had to go there too as Taylor can’t handle him and Couto has the full wing to himself down that side.

 

Hopefully he doesn’t accept our offer if there was one at all and we then look to find a better left back.

Don’t care if Bernabei, Bolingoli or Laxalt were pish, there will be a good leftback out there if we look.

The irony is that he is too wee to play LB aswell.

 

That might be the most exposed I've ever seen him, he's had a few poor games in Europe but I never felt like he was the major weak link.

He was tonight, to say he was Abysmal is an understatement, but we all knew that.

 

He cannot play in games where we need to defend, it's as simple as that.

 

Absolutely horrendous today. Just because he's upped his game becauase he has someone vying for his spot in the team does not make him a great player at this level.

 

I think we need better and have for a while but it would be harsh as * to single him out tonight

 

Seen this story too many times with him. I don't want him playing in Bergamo.

 

Said it in another thread - I like the guy. His limitations in Europe are too hard to watch.

 

It's not news to anyone he isn't good enough at this level, although he is good enough to be back up domestically. But if we wanted to really have a crack at the CL a new first team ready LB was one of the priorities. A loan deal for a Barca academy player was not what was required.

Guy had a shocker but he wasn't alone in that tonight, very few people involved in that debacle come out of it with any sort of credit.

 

Domestic wise he does a job and once again is found out in Europe.

This is why we should have signed a better left back.

 

I'm a big fan of Taylor, but that was one of the worst individual performances I've seen in a European game.

I thought he was absolutely shocking today, even at the basics. He's usually decent at passing but every ball he played was mishit.

 

A lot of absolute pish being written on here. We were outplayed in every position and as a team. He didn't play well but who did? We should be judging our players against the teams we have at home and Zagreb. We're nowhere near a team like Dortmund in any position. It'll probably be the same against Atalanta and Aston villa but hopefully we won't lose as heavily.
