They obviously reached the final last season, but they are a different team under Sahin. I mean, they lost 5-1 to Stuttgart 10 days ago. Was just watching the highlights from that game. They were lucky not to concede even more goals. Bounced back vs Bochum at home beating them 4-2, but they were losing 2-0 after 21 minutes. Hardly a convincing performance despite the win. Seems like their defense is all over the place. Fully expect us to score. I think we got a legit chance.

    Bernardo or Hatate?

Hatate can take too many chances at this level but he can also be the difference too..

Bernardo for me, he's been excellent this season.

Would be happy with either tbf..

I'm not concerned about the fans being negative if we get gubbed, it's how the players take it before going into the more winable games that would concern me. If the confidence takes a major hit those games become much harder. I do still think they will cope, but we don't really know yet the mentality of the group, so that's my major worry about tomorrow, rather than the result itself.

Massive step up from anyone we've played this season and will be very tough, goes without saying. Need to be really focused from of the off.

Not for me, those are games we should always be competing in no matter how good or bad any form may be or where the squad is.

The barometer ties are the next 2, we don’t need to win either to prove we’re on the upward trajectory but we do need to properly compete - that’s the next level for us as a club. We can’t shy away from that, I couldn’t disagree more with this growing noise that tomorrow night is a ‘free hit’. It’s the exact opposite.

Not saying it's a free hit, we must give a good account of ourselves.. but the step up to this elite level has been a bridge too far, for even better teams than this one..

If we win those other games mentioned we qualify and that will be the biggest barometer of how we are as team and club just now..

We'll get nothing from Dortmund and Atalanta away, in terms of result.. the performances are definitely important tho.

    Love to be wrong..

But no CCV.. Scales and Taylor brilliant domestically, can be cruelly exposed at this level..

McGregor too, can find himself really isolated in transition.. said earlier we don't need a DM domestically but we'll be crying out for by the end of play tomorrow night.

Cannot wait for this. I have zero doubts we'll go out and put on a show. Honestly don't know how anyone could have watched us this season so far and think we'll crumble.

We're a fantastic team just now, so much better than the sum of our parts. That's down to the collective, not individual players.

Whether or not we come away with points is a different matter, but we'll 100% take the game to them and cause them huge problems. If we get the breaks on the night we'll take 3 points.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow but was just about to post the same about our defence. Even Taylor has improved a lot but no CCV is a massive loss for us. It feels like when youre playing at this very top level we need to have a full team at our absolute best.

So I fully expect us to concede but I also think we've got a goal or two in us as well. As long as we give a good account of ourselves and show some degree of progress compared to our usual away days in Europe I will be happy.
