At his peak, one of the finest managers I’ve seen. Looks well past it now though.

Don’t like his personality or the fact he makes everything about himself and his record. Fans know he’s a mercenary and isn’t concerned with the particular club he’s managing.

I’m probably in the minority here, but I think his Porto side were superior to us that night in Seville. Yes they used cynical gamesmanship, but they were a very fine side as well… Deco in particular gave us the runaround that night (particularly poor Lenny in midfield).

As a side note, always found it very odd how MON still seems to be hung up on that game and can’t seem to let go of it all these years later. Comes across a bit pathetic really… especially when you consider that MON probably had the bigger profile of the two managers on the touchline that night, and was being tipped for all the top jobs in England including replacing fergie at United. He seems very bitter, but then I guess mourinho did go on to win every major honour in the game while MON’s career took a huge nosedive after leaving us, and he never won any major leagues or CL etc… so maybe that’s the root of it?

His Porto side was they won the CL the following year, much of the same side. It wasn’t that they were a good team, they were annoying * *, Atletico Madrid this season reminded me of them a lot - what’d you call it, the dark arts of football.

I hated Mourinho for ages, * hated how much he respected us and talks us up anytime the subjects came up btw, hated the * wanted him to be a * *.

But, these days, I like the *. Grudging respect. He’s an annoying * *, his football over the last 15 years I’d say, been * shocking to watch and not a patch on what he produced at Porto or his first Chelsea side.

And it’s amazing hearing the interviews and what he was saying when he was at Man Utd, which he pointed out this season cos he’s a smarmy *, but I * like that * man. I think it’s been the popularity of podcasts with players that’s changed my opinion of him, everyone who’s been managed by him or he’s took a shine to * loves him and you can’t disagree with the reasons they put forward about why they do.

I still wanty keep the grudge really, but I don’t, I want my young bitterness back man

Aw mate, it meant a * lot to him, that team and our club means a lot to him.

I still can’t watch highlights of that * game man. I can’t let it go. * love that MON and most of that team, infact all of them, they’re the same. Anytime you hear them. And they all, to a man, also feel like Larsson * deserved that trophy with that performance and feel both robbed and like they let him down.

They all * cared man, that Celtic team is my ultimate one, and I love that they care as much as I did as watching it as a 15/16 year old when Celtic and everything to do with us was the biggest * care in my world. * love it mate

Yeah I know he cares mate. I get that.

It’s just coming from the perspective of just how big MON’s potential was as a manager, for him to be still hanging onto that loss all these years later and feeling bitter about it… when he really should have gone on to win all the top trophies in the game just like mourinho did, it just looks a bit sad tbh. I like MON, but he had the same level of talent as mourinho but he massively underachieved after leaving us… it’s quite disappointing to see him whinging about a uefa cup final 20 odd years later.

From our perspective, as a club, I guess it’s more understandable given the fact that we can’t really compete at that level anymore. It would have been great to win it.

Personally, I don’t think we were robbed in that final though. Porto played very well, and they were cutting up our backline - especially deco - and our midfield was struggling in the latter stages with lambert’s legs going at bit.

We played reasonably well in that game, but I think Porto were the better team and they did a very good job especially tactically, and largely preventing us from creating many clear chances. Larsson was a genius that most teams struggled to contain.

I’ve actually watched that game back several times, it’s painful but I still think it was a great moment for our club to get to that level. The real shame for me, is that MON didn’t stick around and continue to build that side. I don’t think we were far off becoming a strong force in Europe, but we needed some more investment and some fresh blood into that side.

Hate the *! He's the reason I have the worst feelings ever walking out of a football stadium! Dirty cheating *!

Although as much as I hate the *, I think if he became our manager, he'd get us a European trophy.

Thats the irony in a strange way. If mourinho’s stock was still high, he would never consider managing in the spfl… but then when it does drop this much, many fans wouldn’t be enthusiastic about it because he’s seen as yesterdays man. Rock and a hard place really…

I still think guys like him and Benitez etc have more tactical nous in their left bo**ocks than a guy like rodgers… but they don’t play trendy football, so clueless fans have no interest.

I doubt someone like mourinho would struggle to win the spfl. He would at least set us up in europe to be hard to play against, and not get humiliated.

That’s how bad it’s gotten in Europe these days, I just want us to not be the whipping boys of a CL group and maybe turn CP back into a feared venue for visiting teams.

I mean, if you can’t make our stadium with our fans a tough place to visit on a European night, it really doesn’t say much for your abilities as a coach… and I will criticise any of our managers - whether it be Brendan or the fat Aussie or anyone else in the hot seat… it’s rubbish management to not at least get that much right.

He's someone I've grown to like, purely because of how much he's annoyed certain fans. I think he was a strange manager in that he helped evolve the game tactically but once he got the ball rolling, he just couldn't keep up. He's an amazingly successful manager too. Yeah I get he managed Chelsea and Real Madrid but taking that Porto team to such success was a * of an achievement.
    His achievements:
    Champions League 2
    UEFA Cup/Europa League: 2
    UEFA Conference League: 1
    Top flights: 8
    Domestic Cups: 7

He is very misunderstood. He plays a character more or less to take all the spotlight to get the preassure of the players. It worked for a long time but not in the modern game. He is finished.

I’ve never seen a replay of the Seville final and never want to.

I was there and I was sober so the antics of those cheating * will live with me forever, good team or not. I’d like five minutes with * * goalkeeper Baia.

Mourinho is a * and his team were *

Added to the fact that Douglas, Balde and Agathe had the shittest of games.

Henrik was spitting feathers. Imagine scoring two goals in a final and losing? Then to add insult to injury the * idiots at Celtic thought getting Seville for his testimonial was a great idea! * thick tubes.

Anyway * Mourinho (he was a great manager) but he had a team of cheating diving * dark arts *, ergo he’s a *.

His 2nd spell at Chelsea in the beginning was probably the most exciting football his teams have ever played until the league was almost wrapped up then he reverted to type.
