Would have been a coming together and ignored most likely.
Perhaps found a way for a drop ball if they could manage it.

Could see the Hun ref face for the last goal, actually looked angry at having to award the goal and that Valle wasn't offside.

Wonder how many of them thought in the var room "if we draw the line this way...."

I totally agree with the parts in bold. I think you've nailed it there.

I don't think it's a case of Trusty wanting it more. Their guy was just moving away from the goal rather than towards the ball. There's not normally any strength and power required for that. And I don't necessarily think their defender is "a *": if you or I ran into a big guy like Trusty, we're going down too.

They might have thought about it, but decided to keep their powder dry for a time it might affect the outcome of a match.

Never a foul. High chance Hibs would have scored as well.

    First time I'm seeing that.

Why was it a foul? Genuinely. He clearly wins the ball.

He gave a freekick for Propper dropping by the away end when they were under their worst bit of pressure second half..

Also I've heard it's no a red from fatty but it doesn't just hit his arm in the box. He 'intentionally' lifts his arm up to stop a scoring opportunity 5 yards out..

The pen not being retaken for Propper being in the box is a disgrace. Conveniently missed by the huns.....er.....officials

That's absolutely wild how far and blatant he was in. Absolutely laughable and completely against the rules..

And here in lies the issue with how we use Var.
They can issue a yellow, it doesn't get rescinded, it may even go against him for a second yellow later on.
They stop a goal scoring chance.

No one is punished, bar the team who made a perfectly legit tackle. Jozo style.

Was just going by the still as I'd heard a Hibs player had gone in first , which had been cut out of the picture.
It's no surprise that the refs missed the retake on two accounts though.

See the other one to call out is Dermot Gallagher saying Maeda’s goal should have been ruled out for the two players running into each other which I think is wrong but if that is the case then Rangers goal yesterday in the build up Lawerence runs into Miller of Hibs, it’s not a foul to me but if you are saying Trusty is then that is the same thing, Lawerence runs into Miller knocks him off balance.

Souttar should have been sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. His arm is clearly away from his body in an unnatural position, suggesting intent.

I think he has been taking lessons from Goldson.

It's a penalty under the current rules, it's not cheating and we've benefited from similar decisions recently; but this is driving me bananas.

One day, we'll look back on these decisions and wonder what on earth we were on.

His left arm comes up because his right leg comes up to make the block. Go ahead and try it for yourself (I have). Try to make that block at pace without lifting an arm and you will find yourself tipping backwards off balance. Try it again and allow your right arm to move: you'll keep your balance but naturally start to turn your back on the ball, so if the winger is only feinting to cross, you've had it. Try a 3rd time to make the block without losing your balance or turning your back and allow yourself freedom to move naturally and you will find your left arm automatically comes up.

I can't understand why we don't pay an expert in biomechanics to analyse what are and aren't natural movements and provide guidance to VAR.

Even if I turn out to be wrong about this specific case (and I really don't think I am), I know I'm right in general terms and I use the word "know" advisedly. The reason is that the proof is in the pudding. If we really were only punishing defenders who are deliberately making themselves bigger or who have their arms in genuinely unnatural positions, then we wouldn't see so many of them defending with their hands behind their backs. That response only makes sense if defenders know from experience that they can and will be punished if the ball hits an arm they are using naturally for balance. They wouldn't do that if they trusted VAR to judge correctly.

    End of rant.
