Favourite place I've been. I'd recommend the Kansai region (Osaka, Nara, Kyoto) over Tokyo. Cheaper and a bit more chilled out and easier to get around.

 

Anyone been to Krakow wheres best to stay ?

 

We were krakow last may and stayed in Ascot premium hotel , was a nice place and 5 minutes from the old square . We booked the package through Jet2 .

 

Booked flights to Oslo in November. First time in Norway and going for a quick four day break, so any recommendations are welcome.

 

Enjoyed turkey so much in June we've booked again for October. Can't wait! One bit of advice... the airport is one huge scam. Near £20 for a bigmac meal.. *.

Anyway, fake gucci shorts ready, fake hair looking good, and this time I'll try no fall over at the pool n break my thumb this time

 

In Lanzarote just now. Leaving later today at 9pm, then back here in 8weeks for a weeks cruise around the canaries.
Dying to get home to my own bed and home to cooler weather ️

 

Where did you go in Turkey? Never been but do fancy it at some point.

I want to go and see George Orwell’s house on Jura.I think I might just do that soon.Bus from Buchanan St,ferry from Kennacraig to Islay,wee 5 min trip from Islay across to Jura,walk or hitch hike to Craighouse and walk up to his old gaff.Maybe camp out and spend the night on the island.

I spent nearly two years working there and it annoys me that I never visited it or saw the famous whirlpool.

 

I'd never been before so couldn't compare to past years.

I was all inclusive and for all.inclusive the food was brilliant. I normally get sick of hotel pish and eat out, but never in turkey.
Powerade was roughly what we pay. Same with pringles (there Mr potato version)
Then the knock off t shirts between £8-10. Got a couple of quality jackets for £30 each. A hoodie is £20. Got a pair of knock off Nike airs for £20 So not the bargains of the past people tell me, but still relatively cheap compared to what I'd pay here. Those trainers have lasted hundreds of dog walks so far. Well impressed. Tbh the clothes are very decent quality. They probably cost a 1/4 of that a couple years ago but again, I'd never been so couldn't compare.

Great thing was I don't bother exchanging money. Just buy my stuff in English notes. Don't think they trust there own money right now with how volatile it's been.

 

Right between marmaris and icemiller, didn't want to be in the middle of nowhere at those fancy hotels with bowling allys. I enjoy going a walk and things being busy.

 

Couldnt even disagree with you, I've never been and have absolutely zero interest in going.

Worked with folk that had turkish relatives and were over 3 times a year, * know where mind you bit they said the prices had gone through the roof after the beach shootings and trying to get rid of the brit tourists.

 

Their economy tanked. You used to get 4 lire for a quid. You're now getting 44, then folk wonder why it seems expensive when they'd get a drink for a lira and now it's 70 lira

I'd recommend a turkish bath. They batter you, hurt you and call it a massage. You do come out smooth. Also sore..

 

I think you may have been in the wrong hotel...

 

The Turkish baths are mental, not the * tourists ones but the real ones.
Was in one a few years ago and went in with a nice tan and at the end of it I came out pink. They more or less strip a thin layer off skin from you then they massage you with a sort of lemon oil. Stings like f*ck but you come out of there like your floating.

 

You could get a burd to do that to you for about £70 in Amsterdam.

 

Heading for the Caribbean this christmas to St Kitts and Nevis.
